What Do You Recommend?

Fallout 3, hands-down. When I first got it, I was borderline addicted and still didn't finish the main story. I was too busy exploring. I'd highly recommend getting the Game of the Year Edition if you're purchasing it for either Xbox 360 or PS3, since that comes with the first two expansion packs and raises the level cap, and sells for the same price as the original retail copy brand-new.

Fallout 3, no contest. Fantastic game that's worth every penny. Not to mention, it's always refreshing to see an RPG that's not set in a fantasy world. Plus, I haven't really heard very many good things about Too Human.

Is Fallout 3 mostly shooting? Or does the gameplay far exceed that?

I'm not a huge gamer. And I don't particular like games where zombiez/monsters/evil dudes are always trying to kill me. I just finished Uncharted and liked it a bit (besides the flesh eating creatures) and my fiancee is out of town so I want to get my game on.

I'd really like to try Fallout 3 but I keep talking myself out of it.

Prototype was pretty decent... definately wouldn't play it in front of children though... depends what kind of system you have too

Combat is done mostly via first-person shooting, but there's also a turn-based system that's entirely optional (but highly recommended, because ammo is at a premium and weapons can break, so you don't wanna waste too many bullets.)

Honestly, if you don't like open-world exploring, RPGs, or first-person shooters, I wouldn't recommend it.

I like open world exploring games like Final Fantasy. I'm just not the biggest fan of taking on 50 people at once, and non-stop shooting.

But the turn-based shooting I can do.

Thanks for all your input. I dont tend to play many RPG's but I recently picked up Mass Effect for the heck of it and loved it. Fallout 3 it is.

You won't regret it. I played through it a couple times. Mass Effect is an amazing game too.
