Monday Night - What Do You Want to See From the Ravens?

108 posts in this topic

Some people are speculating that this will be a tougher game than it looks on paper. The Browns have nothing to lose, they'll be on primetime and with the way the Ravens are playing, anything could happen.

So what do you want to see from the Ravens next Monday? Gameplan suggestions, personnel changes, let's discuss...

I personally want to see Lardarius Webb start at corner. Cleveland's top receiver is rookie Mohamed Massaquoi. Monday's game will be the perfect game for the team to really see what they have in Webb. He's flashed great potential but a full-game's workload could help him and give him confidence for the coming weeks where the team will face a lot of pass-happy offense that like to use their slot receivers.

This is Cleavland's Super Bowl right here... remember last year when they sucked they still managed to take down the unstoppable Giants on Prime Time. Ravens are going to lose this game if they don't take it serious... I can see the Ravens taking this lightly after slaughtering the Browns the first time but I hope I'm wrong.

I wanna see that 3-4 D that we embarassed Denver with

I hear alot about the 3-4/4-3 scheme that we play.

However, let me ask a few questions to clarify what I'm seeing on the field..

If either our OLB (Suggs or Johnson, who to me, are our best pass rushers that are starters) stand up instead of go in a stance, we are in a 3-4? right?

Yes. If Suggs and J.J. are standing, the d-line would feature Pryce, Ngata and Gregg/Bannan.

Ok. Now I understand.

With both of them standing, they have a better chance of rushing a person in a stance and having to react. Plus with Ngata, Kelly, Edwards/Pryce in the middle, then the run really can't go through the middle.

Now it makes a little more sense LOL.

I changed the thread title so as to avoid confusion with the official Game Thread for in-game discussions during Monday's game. Otherwise, the thread will stand as-is.

This is the type of game where I do a lot of "isos." I am gonna be isolated on the CB's for this game. What I want to see is improved technique in the pass defense.

1. I want to see them "hold the line a little longer before selling out to turn their hips"

2. Even though they have been in much better position to make plays (with the exception of Landy) I want to see them stop digging so deep as to losing their footing consistently.

I just want to see "a little more" improvement from the secondary. They actually have shown minor improvement since the SD game, but if they can just get a little better each week, then the Ravens really do hav a chance.

I don't care what anyone says. The fact is... the defense held the Bengals to 17 points last week. SEVENTEEN POINTS!

What do I want to see from this Monday Night game? WAKE UP OFFENSE! HEY CAM... HOW ABOUT YOU RUN THE BALL MORE THAN 15 TIMES! All 4 wins... we've done that. All 4 losses... we have not.

And if the Ravens aren't going to make the playoffs this year, then can we please see some "trick" plays? I mean, at least entertain me. I believe Flacco has ran one pass pattern in his career, and it went for like 30 yards or something? Let's see it again! Please, you're taking my money... so if you aren't going to win, at least make the losing as fun to watch as possible.

Focus - play hard from the moment the game starts.
Discipline - eliminate penalties, make tackles.
Trust - trust the player beside you to do his job
Aggression - both lines playing with aggression
Sense - playing intelligently and not assuming we can walk all over Cleveland.
Biltzing - lets get after the flipping quarterback!
Coverage - oh please, can we get this right?

Give us a complete effort, Ravens. Let's win 41-0. Everyone needs to come to play!!!!

Amen. I have faith the players won't overlook the Brownies(we as fans can ) but it's the other keys that I'm not sure we'll see.

Even if we win 50-0 it wouldn't satisfy me. I mean c'mon its the Browns.

I'm already looking forward to the Colts game, and all I want there is a win.

I want to get out to an early lead with a quick TD and defensive score, then target practice the rest of the game.Use the suggs package, Ray Rice wildcat, double reverse clayton pass. Pull out all the stops and embarass Cleveland :argdancingravensblueonwkk8:

1. Some imagination in the play calling from the beginning to end, especially on first down at the beginning of the game.

2. An effective pass rush.

3. A return to form by Joe Cool. He had a bad day vs. Cincy.

4. 100 yd. + running attack.

5. An evening without "zebra crap" all over the field.

6. An inspired, hard hitting performance by every Ravens player that steps on the field.

I'm serious. As bad as the Brownies are, with how inconsistent the Ravens have been over the past three weeks, it's a legitimate question.

At home, vs. the Browns... :)
On Monday night - and the Browns are starting Brady Quinn.

No one needs to hope for a win. That's virtually a given.

The issue is, how can the team begin consistently playing well. It's not enough to beat bad teams - the key is to raise the level of play and maintain it consistently. If the Ravens can continue to play, for the next 8 weeks, like they did against Denver, they can turn this season around...

Because it's not only the current record, it's the level of play. Denver is 6-2, leading their division, and they're in trouble. They are playing poorly, having lost to the Ravens and Pitt by a combined score of 57-18 the last 2 weeks.

Pittsburgh is also 6-2, and is playing better. They've won 5 in a row and are beating good teams.

The Ravens not only have to improve their record (against the hapless Browns), they have to correct their mistakes and find a consistent pass rush and a balanced offense.

All I want is two things.

1. A win
2. The defense to play with a sense of urgency and fire. Play with emotion. That has been one of the biggest problems all year.

Actually, my joke was as a Steelers fan I would like to see them lose. ..., but I don't see that happening. Could be wrong, but I don't see it.

Hey Ravens: RUN THE BALL and you'll be fine.

I know right, last time I checked Cam Flacco was 24 years old and a 2nd year starter. Making him throw 30+ times a game is not working.
