Is It Unethical As A Fan To Start Manning Against The Ravens This Week?

11 posts in this topic

Historically, I have tried to avoid starting players against the Ravens because I'm a die-hard fan of my team. But this week, looking at the matchups and the way our defense has played, I may have to start Manning against the Ravens...Is this unethical as a fan?

There's nothing wrong with starting the guy. But if you start pulling for Manning more than the Ravens, that's where the fandom line is crossed IMO.

No, I started Benson in most of my leagues last week. One of them was...dare I say it...in favor of Ray Rice. Well, guess what, it worked out for me. I hope We win 44-35 and Manning throws 5 TDs and 400yd if I have him. Stats dont mean anything but for fantasy. A wins a win.

There's nothing wrong with that. In a way, it's a win-win situation for you. Either your real team does well or your fantasy team wins. If you get to the point where you want the Ravens to do badly so that Manning gets more points, then you should question your fanhood.

Sure, start Manning v. the Ravens THIS week and see how he does :P (We play the Colts on the 22nd)

As a fellow, die-hard Ravens fan... you'd be nuts NOT to start him against us.

Exactly... as long as you aren't rooting for Manning to get TDs, then so be it... if he gets them because we get no pass rush and our corners stink, that's not your fault.

No, the defense hasnt been playing like garbage. Why whould your fantasy team suffer because of it?

I have the Ravens defense and will be dumping them after the brown's game.

Yea man my bad about that, for some reason I thought we played the Colts this week but there's no doubt in my mind that I will start Manning vs. Ravens when they do play

I'll stick by my team as long as I can, but if Manning plays like he did against us last season, at least he will get me mad fantasy points. Either way, Ravens first fantasy second.

I started Chad Ochocinco both games he played against us, but every time he fumbled I was ecstatic and wasn't worrying about the 2 points I just lost.
