Kid looked suicidal on the sideline after the miss yesterday. I give this guy one more blown clutch kick til he loses his mind and turns into Ray Finkle

What kills me is we had a kicker.
He may not have been a top 3 kicker but he sure was (is) better than what we have had to work with this season.

Time to let Hauschka start a new career:

Seriously though, there's been some good points made here. He was supposed to have this huge leg. Kickoffs routinely go to the 10 yd line. What happened to this guy?

I wish we had Nate Kaeding, that guy has a precision boot.

It always worries me when I see kickers that kick PAT's that don't go straight-ish as they go over. Many of Hauschka's makes haven't been very straight kicks at all, I recall several PAT's or short field goals doing this.

I've supported the cornerbacks, the coaches, Hauschka over the last few weeks, but after this week criticism is warranted. This, and evidently other issues, must be addressed immediately.

What I don't understand about this is the sole purpose of NFL kickers is too kick with accuracy over a long distance. I know they often kickoff and have to cover there, but c'mon man.

That miss in Minnesota lost us the game. I know we played poorly on defense, but all the same, there was an opportunity to win and a skill error cost us. I can accept people make mistakes, but to then come out a few weeks later and miss an even shorter kick under pressure really gets to me. I'm worried what these misses have done to a young players confidence also.

The PAT's I probably haven't taken notice of, but all the field goals he's made I thought were pretty much right down the middle. I remember thinking after the Denver game that this kid really is a good kicker except for the pressure kicks. Thats why I was even more upset about the 2 horrible misses because to me he was dead on with everything else.

bah, i say its too late to change now. No one out there, including Nugent, is an upgrade from hauschka. Should have kept stover, but hindsight is 20-20, huh.

I dont know much about Nugent. But honestly as long as he doesnt pee his pants when the pressure is on, he'd be an upgrade over Hauskcha.

Honestly, I'd prefer it if our coachs stopped putting the games in these unknown kickers hands anyway. Good teams dont settle for field goals. Thats what we did vs. Minn and it cost us. And thats basically what we did vs. Cinci, and it cost us.

What do you reckon happens when Vinatieri is healthy again? Colts keep Stover or Adam?
Adam but I wouldnt be surprised to see Vinatieri end up on IR. Stover couldnt have been cheap for them. The fact that they went for him, says Adam might be out longer than they are willing to admit.

My beef with Haushka, which has already been stated, is if he was kept because AutoMATTic couldnt reach the EZ on kickoffs.. Haushka isnt either??

Gano should be available after UFL season... can we afford to wait?

I think that Haushka's days in the Charm city are numbered. Here's why:
1. The fans and the team are both used to consitency at that position. (STOVERMATIC)
2. Harbaugh knows special teams from his coaching experience and feels personally responisble for making sure that aspect of our team is sound.
3. Haushka has made the exact same mistake at least twice. (doesn't show he's learning from mistakes)
4th and most important reason........Neither the on-air commentators or the in stadium announcers cannot properly pronounce his name. :229031_rofl:

Gano has the UFLs first points and longest kick (53 yards) of the league. Steve can't make a 38 yard field goal under any type of pressure. How will he make a kick in the playoffs.
THats b/c Indy obviously knows what it takes to winm and if that means ponying up for a proven leg, then so be it...

On a side note, did anyone hear that Hauschka tried to commit suicide sunday night. Yeah, its true. He tried to hang himself, but his attempt to kick the chair out from under him was no good. :229031_rofl:

lol he can't even do that right.he's pitiful.he's not the answer regardless of what Harbaugh says.we need a better kicker, o-line,defense and special teams.even Flacco was bad sunday.but we should keep him hes pretty good.but he looked like a rookie sunday

:229031_rofl: Hahahaha that may be he funniest thing I have ever read on these forums. I think that rumour is untrue though my friend, I hear Steve is still alive and kicking :oldwiseman:

I said I never trusted him in pre-season when he missed that easy one. When the pressure is on this kid can't kick. This is on instance where I hate being able to say "I told you so"

If Hauschka misses an easy kick these week that should be it for him.
Most likely this game won't be close. Steve doesn't have problems extending our lead, it's only when he's under pressure that things start to fall apart for him. So basically, he's probably going to be in his element during this game.
