Playoffs, hell nah. Even if we got last years defense magically back we wouldnt win 7 of our next 8 games which would give us an 11-5 record which is basically what you need to get a playoff birth.

I wouldnt say that. If our defense can play like they did last year, I think we can win out. Our offense has improved.

We're not going to beat the Colts. Last years D got Ravens D 09'ed by the Colts and really we're not going to beat the Colts in a shootout we can put that to rest right now. That leaves 7 games we have to win that include, the Steelers twice, the Packers, and the Bears.

Statistically we can certainly make the playoffs.

However, I don't think this team has the fire to pull out of this & make the run.

Even if we do make it somehow - I can't see us making it past the first round.

All of our fears about the defense & our secondary are coming true. Based on this, & the way we are playing - we really don't deserve to even sniff the playoffs.

Yes, they did but that was on the road and our offense sucked. Our offense is better this year. And as I pointed out earlier ,the Colts are hurting in the secondary. The key to beating the Colts is keeping Manning on the sideline. We've got the offense to do that now. The key to winning that game is Flacco and Rice, if they can move the ball and sustain drives, keep our D off the field we can win.

Thats what we said last year about their Run D. Run the ball right at them, keep Manning off the field, dictate the game to them. We said that in 06 too. Really I cant even think of a time Manning has lost in a shootout game, hes too good at reading coverages, and exploiting them. Their secondary is hurting yes, but if we attempt to win in a shoot that means Mathis and Freeney have to be contained by Gaither and Oher. Man gooooooood luck doing that.

Let's go Ravens!

The only way the Ravens make the play-offs is if they take care of Cleveland next Monday and beat the Steelers twice. I don't care about what happened last year. The Steelers are beatable. Hopefully, the Ravens take care of business.

Ravens need to watch that movie. And Gladiator. And the original Rocky (the rest were pretty trashy).

I think it is very probable 10-6 makes wild-card this year, NFC isn't that trash. We must win 6 of 8, we better gain massive momentum against Cleveland going back home against Colts.

To me it feels like the season just started a couple of weeks ago... now I have to slowly realize that we might not even get into the post-season. Wow. My mind has been blown.

They came out and took our running game away, and made us put the ball in the hands of our rookie QB, who couldnt beat them with the pass. If they come out and take the run away, forgive me for being optimistic about Flacco but I think he can beat them with the pass if they load the box on us like they did last year. We've never lost to Indy because of our D. Its always been because of our offense. We've got an offense now, maybe its time the tide turned.

Well my point, maybe I didnt state it clearly enough, is that the Colts have played far better offenses the last couple years and beat them. Really how hard is it to stop our offense. Limit Rice's damage, bracket coverage Mason. Game over. Im not optimistic about the Colts game at all, and im flying from Canada to see that game. Manning will shred our defense, and our offense doesnt have big play capability. Rice is our leading receiver and as great as he has been that is not the way an offense should operate.

Kudos to the Bungholes Their D is for real No excuses..no complaining about the refs or individual players. We have been owned by Palmer and actually only beat 2 teams with winning records this year. Anywho at this point it is wild card or bust. I see us Houston, Jax, Miami, Jets and maybe Chargers fighting for one wild card because whoever loses our division between Cincy and Pitt takes top wild card. It all may boil down to what we do against the Stoolers. The sad reality is if that were to all pan out we would play in New England or Cincy/Pitt come wild card weekend lol fun fun One thing for sure is I won't have to make that decision about purchasing playoff tix that the team likes hitting you with semi early each year this time around because there is no way in hell we can land a home game.

That's very doable... I mean, GB just lost to a previously winless TB team!

I'm glad I got me some Josh Freeman on my fantasy team before this weekend's game. Talk about a hunch. In my deep QB league, QB's are gold.

It's only mid-season but right now we stand 9th in the conference
indy 8-0
denver 6-1
cincy 6-2
new england 6-2
pitt 5-2
san diego 5-3
houston 5-4
jacksonville 4-4
Ravens 4-4
jets 4-4
now we have tie breaker victories over denver and san diego.Like I said there is alot of football left but this is where we stand minded pitt and denver have yet to play but win or lose they will pretty much be near the same position

we go 6-2 over the next half of the season and we get a wild card spot. Houston, San Diego, Pitt, and the NYJ are going to be fighting with us for the two wild card spots. We have the tie breaker over SD. The jets have the same record as us. We still play Pitt twice. Houston is a choke show. Have some faith in your team, too many crybabies on this forum that are ready to throw in the towel. The season is only half over. Sack up whiners and support our team ftw.

If thats the break down, right now we'd be behind the Jets. Our only common opponant would be the tie breaker and we lost to NE, who they beat. So, we are 10th.

Is SD really 5-3? They seem like their record is so much worse than that.

I have faith that we will be in a dogfight for one wild card spot. I'll be at the games regardless but likely will be channeling my home playoff game fundage elsewhere.

Play-off's? Did somebody say play-off's? Right now we are 1-2 in our division and have yet to play the Steeler's. We have to at least beat the Browns and sweep the Steeler's to even be able to say play-offs in a sentence in reference to the Raven's. Until then the play-off's should not even be a topic for discussion for 2009. :34853_doh:

Thank you. I was beginning to lose hope that there were still some levelheaded people out there. The constant crying is insane, like the board is run amok with emotional 16 year olds.

I think we need to go 7-1 from here on out to be sure. 10-6 isn't a guaranteed playoff spot anymore. It's doable. We can afford one more loss, so if we do lose to Indy, or if we beat them and split with Pitts, we're still in good shape. If we go 6-2, that's leaving too much to chance, and as we all know, that isn't a position we want to be in.
