Why Are So Many Browns Still Holding A Grudge?

45 posts in this topic

i guess some are just a little slower at that particular process/development than others are....

you cannot change what happened....so why bother bringing the Subject up over and over, time and time again (like some of these Topics on this forum lol........There all basically the Same thing, or referring to the same subject) if you bring it up, you only get yourself all worked up and all angry about it, creating all sorts of problems for you and whoever else that may or COULD be invloved....so just push it aside and move on with life.

Tell that to some Ravens fans about Indianapolis and all the other Browns fans that won't get over the whole "Cleveland to Baltimore" situation.

Good thing I'm not from Baltimore and don't live in Baltimore.

I mean, at the risk of sounding ignorant, I never PERSONALLY cared to hate Indianapolis for what happened in 1984, mainly because I wasn't even BORN yet until 1989, and none of my family members at the time were Baltimore Colts fans (and none of them are neither Colts nor Ravens fans, except my brother, so touch

I don't hate the people of Indianapolis for stealing our Colts. I hate them for celebrating it and gloating by wearing "Indianapolis Orioles" shirts and hats right after the theft.

oooo yea! forgout about that......the fact that they are Gloating over it and keep it up, they are kind of like "rubbing it in our faces" so to speak.....thats another reason.

My father in law is a browns fan, born and raised in cleveland. He's not bitter over it but we do joke about it from time to time. He said the FG was pay back for taken their team. I say that's fine, i'll give you that FG for the SB trophy we won in 2k. He laughs i laugh then we move on.

LOL actually no, that dig wasn't intended or meant for anybody specifically.

My point is it sucks and while the situations aren't the same, it's a topic that just isn't going to change. Everyone has their own opinion (and rightfully so) about the subject but it happened and that's that. Doesn't mean I agree with it however.. just can't change what's already been changed really.

Kind of like Browns fans that still try to talk to me about Modell moving the team. Yeah ok it sucked, but you know, there's two sides to every story and they fail to neglect a lot of the reasons he *did* leave, but that's another story. In the end however, who cares? It's over with, we both got football teams we're proud of and I'm happy with that.

i agree that the baltimore colts history, records, super bowl, and everything should remain in baltimore.....im not even a baltimore fan and it irks me when i hear "former Indianapolis Colts star, John Unitas" he never played in indy.....he should be mentioned soley as a Baltimore Colt.......as for the browns...the 1946 thru 1995 history should be retired and not be associated with our new team. while we are named the Cleveland Browns, Jim Brown and those guys never played for this browns team. the team they played for relocated to Baltimore......i think we should start a new history beginning in 1999.

also, i am over the anti-ravens stuff.....especially sinice art no-longer owns the team.....i only hated the modell family. not the city of baltimore, the fans, or the team in general.

Being a Browns fan, I agree we should let go of the Browns moving to Baltimore. Honestly, the Browns never moved to Baltimore. We got our team back 3 years later. I disagree with you about saying our history should begin in 1999, you are so wrong about that.

I respect that but not all Browns fans are that logical.

I bet the NFL planned keeping us in the same division, creating much more than a simple division rivalry.

They even forgot simply georgraphy to do it. The Ravens are in the AFC north but a 5th grader could tell you that Maryland is below the Mason Dixon line which means Maryland is in the south.

I remember the Colts sneaking out in the middle of the night. At that time in my life it was the lowest thing I'd ever seen a person do. I don't hate Indianapolis but my opinion of Jim Irsay could not get lower. (I hate the Colts but for different reasons.)

That said, I understand and even empathize with Browns fans and any anomosity they may hold.

Hey I would like to reply to this. I was Born and raised in Ashtabula Ohio about an hour or so from Cleveland. Moved to Harrisburg in 1994,and fell in love with Baltimore interharbor area.so when they moved I became a baltimore fan.(To me they are the Browns at heart) Raised a Browns fan. grow up in the Sipe years and remember when Ozzy played the game. That said IF Modell WOULD have gotten a new park the Browns would have stayed. So what happened when the team leaves? They biuld a new park! They should have done that before!

What makes me sad is when I go home and wear my purple and black,I get cussed at car gets spit on and so on. but I can't be to mad when I think about how my "New" team have a Super Bowl ring! So point being I get NO love, My side of the family are brown fans and my wifes side (they are from Erie,Pa) are Squeelers fans! I 'm all alone!
