Brandon Spikes will be number 1 soon
doubt it, that incident was with an eye for an eye mentality... the guy poked spikes in the eye earlier in that game

As much as I hate, repeat hate Hines Ward, you do have to give a guy some credit. Whether dirty or not to go out game after game and make blocks is a quality we all wish for our recievers. He doesnt just stand there in the way, he puts his body into the block. Great props for the effort even though I agee he is dirty as they come. Id love to see someone knock the smile off his face.

Can't be done. The only way is to get him to fumble.

Not surprised at all by the Titans and Steelers having multiple players in the top 10. Where's James Harrison though? Anyone else remember him going UFC on a guy in the super bowl after the whistle blew? He needs to be put down IMO.

It wasn't after the whistle blew. It was during a punt and the guy (Fransisco) tried to take Harrison out out the knees. What Fransisco did was dirty.

Ignorance is bliss I guess. Believe what you want then. James Harrison is the devil.

The thing that makes it even funnier is that Hines Ward is an Offensive player. You wouldn't expect there to be such a wide margin being he is an offensive player.

But, It should have been called the Dirtest and Cheapest player.

Ed Reed isn't a whiner.
Bart Scott probably campaigned on the issue.

Did you see the interview with him a few weeks ago? He gets pretty upset when folks call him a dirty player.

Haha, I remember C-mac laying a nice hit on Ward in week 17 of 2003. The game jamal shouldve broken the 2105 record. That hit was as sweet as they come! lets hope we see Ed knock ward on his a$$ in week 12.

Ray Lewis is a dirty player? Man, this league is turning into a sissyfest. So you hit hard and are instantly labeled a dirty player? Ray Lewis is an ambassador for the game! :34853_doh: :popcorn drama:

Well been following the Eagles since '94 and I can safely say I miss the good 'ol days of actually playing a game and crushing the opponent because you HATE the opponents. What is this friendly attitude nowadays?

Mawae disagrees with Harrison: "Maybe it is a way for him to deflect attention away from himself because I think everybody who's been in this league for a long time knows that he may be the dirtiest guy that's ever played this game. I think somebody forgot to tell him that that long, wide, 3-foot white line on the sideline, we play inside those, and he spent a lot of his time playing outside of those. I don't have a lot of respect for that guy."

-- Titans center Kevin Mawae on NBC analyst Rodney Harrison calling Mawae a dirty player (The Tennessean)

"If Rodney Harrison wants to accuse somebody of being dirty, tell him to look at his 16 years of highlights. I guarantee he got fined more in one year than I have my entire career."

-- Mawae

Mawae speaks the truth. NO ONE deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as him when it comes to dirty.

Everyone will have their own definition. But I saw Hines Ward interviewed before Bengals game 1. He said regarding breaking keith rivers jaw in three places, "No I am not sorry and if I get the chance I will do it again this game." Hines is clearly a dirty player. As is Joey Porter. When NFL Players say they are glad someone got hurt (ie.. Carson Palmer), or I will do it again, the league should be looking at these guys closely. Physical is one thing. Violent is another. It is a rough game but their is no room for people seeking to injur people. Just my humble opinion.
Dirty to me is doing crap out side of football and usually after the whistle (like throwing punches, biting, snapping fingers, etc.). Hines knocks the crap out of a LB and somehow it's dirty. I've never seen him not be within the "victims" peripheral.

Vince Wilfork poked Brandom Jacobs in the face = Dirty.
Rodney Harrison punching, shoving and being violent after the whistle = dirty
Albert Haynesworth stepping on a dude's unprotected face while he's laying on the ground = waaaaaaay dirty.

Hines Ward pancaking anyone = not dirty.
