Drew Brees Not Quite There Yet...

19 posts in this topic

As good as he has been this season and the last 3, he still isn't getting the calls like the Bradys of the NFL. Anyone watching mnf tonight. He got a bigtime facemask full of Decoud's helmet which caused a fumble and falcons td. Normally I'd say, whatever, let that one go. But the way they've been calling two hand touch on the qb this year, I'd say that more than qualified for a penalty

You didnt read the rule correctly. Its only a foul if you ask for the flag. If you dont ask for it, you dont get it, period. ^_^

I saw that too. All I can say is, at least Brees isn't a baby, he's not going to ask for a flag. He's tough enough to take the hit, take the face mask. He's going to come right back out and make the play.

What I would like to know is... what is with all the clock errors tonight? Firs the play clock... now the game clock.

Matty Ice isnt looking too good with his throws. That 25 yard and out pass was off by 5-10 yards. He is having a bad game. Probably wants that pick 6 back as well. Poor guy.

Oh yeah, I forgot. I got respect for brees for not making a peep about it. He doesn't need help. I'm just glad we don't have to play them till the superbowl, LOL. Seriously though, their receivers are scary. That catch Henderson made...that'd be like kelley Washington out there, whew.

You forgot jump up and down and point your finger. Wait, is that what makes it 15 instead of 10? I forget.

He is a football player, like Ben, Flacco and Favre. Ryan takes hits and comes back up too.

Ryan isn't whiny like You Know Who, but he's near the top of the list of quarterbacks who have drawn roughing the passer flags in 2007-2009 (note: he and that other one, didn't even play for one of the those seasons). I guess that's what happens when you're "The best sophomore quarterback in the history of the game." (According to Sports Center)

It's ironic that Drew Brees, who's is one of the shortest and lighest quarterbacks isn't one that the refs are giving special protection too.

How true, Tom Brady cries like a 2-year old for the damn flag. Time for a massive hit on that sucker!

I like how Steve Young is drooling on Matt Ryan and his Sophomore abilities when he threw 3 INT's!

When you look at it, the only thing making a Flacco vs Ryan debate is the fact that Flacco got off to a slower start last year. If he had played like he played late in the season there would be no question at all who the better QB is.

The NFL still looks down on the Saints like a red-headed step child, who by process of elimination must be our red headed twin. You see thats when the NFL screams at us and tells us we will never amount to nothing, or be a big market like the NFL's beautiful pageant queen daughter the Patriots.

Forgive us, for not being as pretty or effeminate as Tom Brady.

Flacco led us to the AFC Championship Game, winning two games on the Road no less, something no rookie QB has ever done in the history of the NFL.... Matt Ryan lost in the 1st Round. It's painfully clear who's better.

I know! That is so annoying. The guy completed less than half of his passes and gave the other team points and you're going to talk about how great he is... in that game no less?

I really don't have any problem with Matt Ryan, but he get's way too much hype. Flacco wins playoff games and it's all his defense; Ryan throws interceptions and he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Drew Brees is in my top 3 favorite players in the league right now, he's undersized compared to many of the QBs, but dude is tough, he's brilliant when it comes to football, I think he may be even smarter in football than Peyton Manning. I think he got a raw deal from SD and I'm so glad that he found such a good home in NO. He takes his licks like a man, gets right back up and proceeds to make opposing defenses look bad. Go #9

Makes you wonder how he got away from SD so easily? I know they got Rivers and all, but right now Brees looks a lot better.

He got injured in the last game of the season and no one was sure how he'd bounce back from that shoulder injury. IMO, thats the reason that there wasnt more of a market for him. NO coming off a horrible season and everything the city had gone through were sort of desperate to create a new image for that franchise. They took a big risk but it paid off big time for them.
