Ot Rules

I have to say, I don't follow college as much as the NFL, but thats cause I like the competativeness of the NFL. The only problem I have is with the OT rules, thats where college gets it right and the NFL couldn't be more backwards. You have a game like this one going back and fourth, and the outcome is decided on a coin toss. If thats the best the NFL can come up with, I say at the end of the fourth quarter if it's tied we flip a coin and give the winner one point, game over no questions. Oh I'm sorry thats pretty much what it is now, except throw in five mins. of wasted, injury causeing possibility time. The NFL needs to follow college, if you can only score a feild goal then I have a shot at scoring a TD, and if I only score a field goal we keep going, till one of us does better or OT is over, no TD no winner it's listed as a tie. I know people are going to say well, the Def. should hold them from that, but I say if we hold them to a field goal then we did hold them. Kickers are kicking 50yrd+ field goals now a days, what do you define as holding them, keeping them in their own endzone. If we have to hold them, then they should have to hols us from scoring it's only fair. Not, well get 5 yrds kick and game over thats BS! I know the NFL wants to be entertaining, well then make it entertaining and not a waste of time being decided by a Ref. with a coin.

Well grass is always greener on the other side. I dont like the NFL's system when it doesnt favor the Ravens. I can understand why you would want to play an extra quarter, if we go into overtime, but the NFL wont do that because of programming times and money to be made off other games.

Your point is right. The NFL should change some of its OT rules. But I think that flipping a coin is the best option. After flipping a coin, you have an extra quarter to score as many points as possible. Field goals and touchdowns, it doesnt matter.
