Possible Standing After Week #9

22 posts in this topic

The standings after Week # 9 could look very promising in the AFC North.
With a Raven & Denver win, there would be a 3 way tie for first place.
Could make it very interesting in Week #10 Pitts vs Cincy.
Whats everyones thoughts

We can't worry about anyone else. We need to beat Cincinnati. I hope Denver wins next week, but we need to take care of business or it won't matter.

I do not see it as "worrying" about who's going to win the Denver/Pittsburgh game. It's more along the lines of the thought that the AFC North lead is not out of our grasp, no longer are the playoffs out of reach, either. It all depends on if the defense can play like it did against Denver all season long. If so, our chances are exceptional.

looking at how the ravens ripped the broncos apart, i think we win that game

and the bengals barely beat us at their house without troy, i think we win that game too

and then we play KC, i think we win that game

you play the Bengals, i think you win that game

you play the Browns, i think you win that game

you play the Colts, (No Offense) i think you lose that game

And then Steelers Vs Ravens, not going to predict at this time

It would be ideal if this happens. But it could just as easily go the other way. What if the Bengals beat us and Pittsburgh wins? We would be down 2 games with a .500 record.

This is a must win for us.

I feel like we softened up Denver for the Steelers. We injured a couple of their players, got into Orton's head a bit (which the Steelers will exploit more with their blitzing techniques) and grounded them from their fantasy world. Plus the game is a Monday Night game, Steelers always do well in night games.

I'm hoping the Broncos can really attack that offensive line of the Steelers. That's the major difference between our two teams. If they can wrap up Ben's arm & take him down. Then the Broncos win.

But first things first, we need to take care of business.

Cincy is the only team I'm worried about right now. They creamed the Ravens at times a few weeks ago. Hopefully, the guys are ready to march into their house and punch them in the mouth.

No offense, but the Steeler defense hasn't exactly been playing Steeler defense this year. The Ravens defense was against the wall, they HAD to step it up for this game. Now, the Broncos got a reality check, so I'm sure they're not going to come in cocky and trying to just coast. If the Broncos get it together and avoid a slump, then it's not going to be an easy game for the Steelers.

As for the Bengals, they've been better on the road then at home, so I wouldn't take the whole "barely beat us in their own house" argument too far. Granted, I still don't think the Bengals are for real still this season. Their history is plagued with inconsistency and slumps.

As for Indy, I think we have a very good chance of stealing a win. Again, that's if our defense carries this intensity into that game.

I think the broncos are going the change some of the scheme plan..will hope they win against steelers or bengals..that was great for our defense to step up & now we have both defense & offense on the road..way to go Ravens..

The steelers D is ranked 1st in Rush D and 8th in total D

but your right i dont see it being as one sided as your game....but i still think we win

Steelers fans are looking at what we did to the Broncos and are saying to themselves, we can win this game easily.

But the thing is, our O-Line dominated their front seven. Dumerville recorded only 2 tackles! To go along with his two offsides. We gave Flacco enough time to make a few plays. The question for the Steelers is, do you feel confident that your OL can put up the same performance as ours?

Don't get me wrong, I do think the Steeler win this game. But if Denver is going to win, they are going to need to bust through the Steelers OL.

i agree with you

But you have to admit that our O-line has proven not to be as much of a weak point as it was last year

and i also think Ben out plays Orton

I don't doubt that one bit.

Denver fans are going to crash soon enough, and realize Orton isn't doing enough. Come these cold months, when running becomes more dominant, and they face run stuffing teams. Orton isn't going to do enough to win these games.

If Denver can't run, they can't pass. They kept trying to establish the run for the entire game yesterday. That's not how it works in the AFC North. To set up the run against us, you need to pass first.

Before yesterdays game, I thought to myself that we wouldn't go far at all this season. But now I think that if we play the way we did yesterday against the Bronco's , we can go pretty far. So this is how I see it...

Baltimore @ Cincy...Ravens win (28-14)

Donkey's @ Steelers..Broncos Win (but not by much 24-20)

Brown...On Vacation (Some may not want to come back)

So we will be tied for first in the division. Not sure how the tie breaker and all that goes but that's what I think will happen.

Yea i noticed that too they wouldnt let it go....our teams stop the run first

we make sure no one can run and then we worry about the pass

i have a question....if we lose and you win so the standings are

5-3
5-3
5-3

who do you root for in the Steelers V. Bengals game

I know I'll get all kinds of negative points for this but I want a rematch of last years AFC Championship. So I would say the Steelers.

I'd probably still root for the Bengals. If anything, because I live near more Steeler fans then Bengal fans (I know like two people personally who cheer for Cincy). If the Steelers win, I'll have to hear about it for the next month. Plus, it'd put Pittsburgh more on even ground with us, which is vital when we still have to play 'em twice.

It's amazing to see how much 1 game can change the mentality of fans. Last week most fans on here were saying how much we suck, then this week we are back to being borderline unstoppable.

the reason i want you guys to beat the bengals next week is because we only have one more chance to hurt them, we have two shots at hurting you

puts the destiny a little more in our hands

Unfortunatly, so do I. I was not impressed with Doom at all. I'm rooting for the Donks, but I see you guys pulling this one out.
