Ps3 To Get Netflix

17 posts in this topic

Sony has announced that Ps3 users will soon be able to stream movies thru their Ps3 via Netflix very soon. This was a service offered by Microsoft that was on of the few thing 360 users would use over PS3 owners. Now with a Netflix subscription you will be able to stream movies and shows via your Ps3.

Isn't that what the video part of the PS Store is pretty much?

kind of but this is different as this will go with your netflix account to rent movies thru mail also and it only 9 bucks a month for unlimited as opposed to a few bucks per rental.

Netflix has a larger library of content than the PlayStation Store, and the key here is that the content can be streamed as opposed to downloaded.

This will actually compell me to sign up for Netflix pretty soon. Pricing's not bad, neither. It'd be cheaper than renting movies from iTunes or PSN, if I rent a certain number of movies a month.

I wonder how much Netflix costs. I usually just go to Redbox for my movies; it's only a dollar a day.

8.99 a month for unlimited movies

Going to be honest with you , If they use the same instant que library that the 360 has then we aren't getting much they are generally terrible movies. The best thing about Netflix is that you can order a movie one day and it will be there the next in terms of their mailing service which allows you to get any movie.

Yeah I used it on my 360 for a few months. Waste of money, you would be better off sticking with cable tv lol. You add movies through the instant que to watch on your computer or your ps3/360 but the movies they have are old movies. Say if Blindside were to come out on DVD tommorow you wouldnt be able to see it unless you got it mailed to your house, they wouldnt add it to the instant que probably for a year or so.

This must have just occurred today. Because when I log onto to Netflix, its on the homepage.

This is great news. It sounded like this was never going to occur.

I've been a 4 disc member since 2000. I loved the instant watch so I bought a roku box, so I could stream right to my TV.

The instant watch collection is allright. Not to many new movies. But they have a huge selection of old, foreign and other great stuff.

But I've been dying for them to add it to PS3. I hope they have the same simple set-up as the roku box.

I'll be getting my disc tomorrow as well.

This should prove very beneficial for Netflix.
