The team is HORRIBLE, and now fans cant even express their displeasure without having their rights as Americans taken from them by the dictator owner

Dan Snyder was the worse thing that ever happened to not just the Redskins but to the NFL. I dont really care Jim Zorn, he just seems like a jerk, but I feel bad for him. He should have been an OC first and now because of that debacle in Washington, he'll probabaly never get another shot at an HC job when he's ready, anywhere that matters, and he's going to have a hard time finding a job as an OC at the pro level.

Agreed,it's sad that the Raiders look better than the Redskins right now.

As much as my mom is a diehard Redskins fan, I would not take her to FedEx field after reading about this.

The word is already getting out about this to some sports and even consumer blogs. I have to agree with some posters there though, fans have got to stop filling in the seats because until they do, Snyder won't care about being a bad owner because he's still getting his money and people are still showing up.

Is there any way that an NFL owner can be fired?

We're gonna have to take the Blitz:The League approach and trick him into betting on games!

Same here. My father in law loves the Skins and we were thinking about getting tickets to a game as an early Christmas gift. Not happening now.

I'll tell you this, usually when we go to the game, we sit in the section right in front of the owner's box. Twice I wore my Raven's jersey to preseason games there and both times I was hassled by security. Apparently I couldn't possibly belong in that section. You better believe I made a point to make as much noise as I could.

This year when the location was reversed, not one single person gave my father in law a hard time about his Redskins hat. Class - some owners have it and some owners don't.

I don't know why you guys have a problem with the skins besides the fact they tried to stop the Ravens from coming to Baltimore. That was a business move. But I see what Cooley, Portis, Yoder, Hall, Fletcher and McIntosh do in the community and how they support other DC teams. It kills me that you cant fire an owner. is it Jim Zorn's fault? Maybe. Is there a horrible GM in the Nation's capital? Yeah. Is the owner to blame? You bet your ****** he is to blame.

Redskins were my team after the Colts left, and actually when the Colts were here to annoy my dad :dancingbanana: and it it criminal to what that team has become. I actually went to Fed-ex in 1999 for the WC game against the Lions, a friend gave me the tickets with parking for 4, and the comparison to that stadium and ours is just night and day. My friends had Ravens garb head to toe and no one said a word. All the apathy started then, abated under Gibbs and is back 10 fold. You can't fire the owner, ask the Raiders. Snyder is a lot like Bischotti--he grew up a fan of the team, but he needs to let a football minded guy in charge like Mr B does. Snyder is not afraid to spend money.

It is amazing what has happened to this franchise. Now Hacksaw Snyder sends his goons out into his own crowd to silence any dissent. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they don't win another game this year.

Nope, same story with the NHL Toronto Maple Leafs. Trust me, I grew up in the GTA and been waiting since '67 to win the Stanley Cup is ABSURD! The owners don't have to spend money to make the team better because dumb fans keep filing up the arena. There's a 10+ year waiting list for season tickets for crying out loud. BLAH!

It amuses me that the 'Skins vice president of football operations actually publicly stated that he believes the Redskins are playoff material. I know you can't publicly say "Yeah, this team... it's garbage", but is he watching the same team everyone else is?

Yea, I read that too. :229031_rofl:
I'm sure that Snyder would only hire "yes men", so it's no surprise he would say that.
I work with a couple 'Skins fans, and they are very excited that they will get a top 5 pick next year. :D

Well, that would certainly be best for the team. But knowing the 'Skins, they'll probably trade the pick......

Breaking News:
WASHINGTON—Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn held a press conference Sunday to reassure fans that, despite an inability to effectively execute their offense, defense, or special teams, the Redskins were still somewhat comparable to a real football team. "It's been a tough season so far, and even though we are 2-5, we still have players, uniforms, Motorola headsets—all the components that technically constitute an NFL team, sort of," Zorn said while grimacing and making a "so-so" gesture with his hand. "Sure, I was stripped of play-calling responsibilities by team management, and I really don't have any clue who will play quarterback for us this Sunday, but I swear to you, in a weird, very convoluted way, we are in the NFL." Placing his hand over the microphone, Zorn then spoke briefly with an unidentified man near the stage, and announced that, for what it's worth, the organization owns the Internet domain name washingtonredskins.com through 2010.

I don't understand why there were a few shots thrown in about Maryland in one of those Articles. 95% of MD wants nothing to do with the 4-Skins. When they are doing good all they do is talk trash about Baltimore and when they do terrible it feels like part of the joke is on us because they technically play in MD...

The skins problems start at the top and work all the way down. The owner wants to be Jerry Jones but,he cant because he doesnt have a football mind. The GM sucks he is clueless. The coach is a lame duck, the Oline cant block, the QB cant throw a ball more than 15 yards and looks down the reciever as soon as the ball is snapped. The RB is over the hill, ect. When they get to the draft they will trade to get a def. player or a washed-up QB who will be way over-payed.

i live in Chesapeake, VA (about 2 1/2 hrs out from both D.C. and Baltimore). i am a diehard Ravens fan however, for some odd reason....my area chooses to support the Deadskins! they have their own network in this area, their games are ALWAYS broadcast for viewing and nearly every department store carries Deadskins jerseys, hats etc. i can't stand those cats! so...i can only imagine the rivalry between the local Deadskins and Ravens supporters.

now...my local networks has FINALLY brought in the John Harbaugh Show, Rave TV and the Ravens Report on television! YES! now i get a full dose of THE RAVENS!!!!!!

I was in Va Beach 3 summers ago with my sons Sea Scout ship on summer long cruise and Cox pre-empted the Ravens pre-season game instead choosing to play it at 1 am--there were some very un-happy Ravens fans--same thing happened when we went to OBX for long cruise 2 summers ago--Flacco's first game- they played the 3rd quarter on MASN 2 because of a Nats game. :34853_brickwall: As much as I love Chesepeake it would make me crazy!

My father in law (Redskins fan since dirt was new) stopped by this evening and we commiserated a little. The conversation turned to Snyder and the things that were happening and he kept saying to me that it's just business, it's just business. I haven't seen him this down over football before.

I finally stopped him. To the coaches, owners, and players it is business. But to me, as a fan, it isn't. It can't be. Why? Let's say you go to a particular dry cleaner. The last three times you've gone, they have messed up your clothes. Do you got back? Of course not. You find another dry cleaner and move on. It's nothing personal, just business. You certainly wouldn't walk into that cleaners, holding your breath and hanging on to hope they can turn it around and pull off an upset. You would never say to yourself there's always next week. You wouldn't hang around cheering them on to a win.

Owners bank on the fact that it's not a business for the fans. They count on continued support during bad years. They benefit from our faith rather than pay for our business savvy.

I think Snyder has forgotten that. Too bad he isn't the only one to suffer for his oversight.

I thought this was quite funny so I thought I'd share.

From a Redskins fan:
That's right, 8 in a row or we don't go. If we win out, we'll be at 10-6 and be prime for a playoff spot. We'd be 4-2 in the NFCE and have a tie-break on the Pukes. I mean really, we're right where we want to be. Look at our ridic. easy schedule coming up:

vs. DEN: Are you kidding me? They are falling downhill fast. Kyle Orton is a QB with a 'stache - recipe for disaster. Skins win easy, 37-14.

@ DAL: Miles Austin may be running wild, but he's never been given a 15 yard cushion before. Rogers will be the first to do so and he will have so much space he won't know what to do with it. Levi Jones was a higher overall draft pick than Demarcus Ware and thus will dominate him. 27-13 skins.

@ PHI: Skins want revenge and they will get it. 4 days after turkey day the skins will still be hungry and eagles are close to turkeys. We will wear Cleveland browns uniforms to trick Vick into thinking we are indeed dogs and draw 15-yard penalties all day for illegal dog fighting attempts. Game will be decided by war of the Westbrooks and since Brian will most likely get knocked out by Fletcher's knee, this one is a no contest. 17-0 skins.

vs NO: Its proven the Saints can't win in Washington and are still haunted by the Ricky Williams trade. The Aints are 0-1 in DC in the past two years. If that's not a trend, I don't know what is. Brunell will always be a skin and will use his jedi noodle-arm tricks on Bress. Gregg Williams loses his second g after this beat down. 53-24 skins.

@ Oak: This proves to be the toughest test for the skins since Oakland is eerily similar to the powerhouses Detroit, Carolina and KC. The two most impressive owners in professional sports witness the two best quarterbacks in the league battle for least turnovers. Campbell's 4 fumbles bests Russell's 5 picks and skins win 3-2.

vs NYG: By this point, the Giants will clearly be 5-8 and will be looking to tank the rest of the year to draft a franchise QB to replace the only position that they need help in. Laron Landry will continue his machine like tackling in his continued dominance over Brandon Jacobs. Skins win 31-14

vs DAL: Its December and we're playing Tony Romo - do I really need to say more? 4 pick six's result in a 28-0 victory.

@ SD: Norv makes this game interesting by signing Michael Westbrook and Gustave Frerotte before the game. We counter by sending Stephen Davis and a padded cement wall over to the SD sidelines. Skins win 17-3 and win the NFC East.

So whenever you think about how horrible the Ravens defense is, or how inconsistent the offense has been, or how much Chris Carr lets us down on special teams, just remember, it could be alot worse. XD
