wooo doggy! Am I the only one who's taking Hotlanta to beat the Taints??
Upset of the week coming up, fellas!

You could be right, but I don't like Atlanta in that game. They've yet to prove that they can hold their own with good teams and I have trouble believing that Ryan and Co. will be able to tangle with a defense that specializes in interceptions. I'm taking the 'Aints in this one.

What's so hot about Atlanta anyway? They're pretty middle-of-the-pack on offense and defense.

(Now that I think about it, the Falcons are alot like the Ravens; they just can't seem to beat winning teams.) -_-

Not that I think Hotlanta is all that great, I just like this matchup, because they're built to beat a team like Nawlins. A heavy dose of The Burner will keep Brees & co. off the field, a playmaking QB with weapons like Hot Rod and Gonzo to put on the fireworks show, and a defense that doesn't completely suck.

Hmm, isn't there some other team which is really good at running the ball and controlling the clock? I think they're from somewhere in Florida...

Yep, Miami had them on the ropes for the first half of that game too. Difference is that ATL can be very dangerous throwing the ball, and Turner is just a brute who can wear them down.
Of course, Brees has to get on the field eventually. If Atlanta can make a few stops, they'll be in good shape. But I'm not holding my breath, lol...

Wait a minute, isn't Turner averaging like two inches per carry?

Matty and Gonzo are pretty good, but I don't think their 17th ranked passing attack is going to scare Darren Sharper.

I'd feel more inclined to choose Atlanta if they were at least playing at home, but I'm just not seeing anything impressive about the Falcons.

I think it's more like 7 inches a carry, lol...kind of annoys me because on my fantasy team he is turning into another Bettis. I'm just waiting for him to turn in a game where he has more TD than yardage.
But hey, Sharper can't cover Hot Rod AND Gonzo. After all, he's no Ed Reed :D, although he is a good imitation.
And I think the Falcons defense will be the deciding factor (dear lord). Saints are a lock to give up like 50 points a week, so if Hotlanta can hold Brees to 49, then there ya go, they have a good shot to win and I'll look like I know what I'm talking about for a change!

The toughest pick this week for me was GB/MIN....I think GB is very overrated, but last time they played it was GB on the road and it took an absolute last second miracle for MIN to win. I chose GB to win, but I have absolutely no faith in that pick (either way) at all.
I seriously feel more confident about my Hotlanta pick than this one.

Who was everyone else's toughest picks?

Picks have been logged and tallied, and here's how the picks stacked up:

Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Indianapolis, San Diego, and Arizona are this week's unanimous picks.

Miami/New York is this week's toss-up pick.

The Home teams are favored, 9 to 4, this week.

The Detroit Lions are actually favored this week.

Standings will be posted monday night/tuesday afternoon. Good luck everyone.

(And thanks for the props, Zibby, much appreciated.)

Yeah, if the Falcons defense shows up, it could be a game. (Instead of the usual exibition match that substitues as a Saints game.) But even if Atlanta can hold Brees to a mere 49 points, what if Sharper gets his 5th(?) pick six of the year?

The hardest pick for me was Denver @ Baltimore. :(

Well, St. Louis upset the vast majority of us.

Guess we won't see two seasons in a row with a 0-16 team. Unless the Titans really suck it up. I don't really think the Bucs will go winless either, but it could happen.

not I, my friends... my decision was made for the simple fact that the Lions best player couldnt get on the field. Without megatron, the Lions are lost.

Flynismo, once again we are neck and neck!

Yes, we are! I tried to get cute and picked a couple games that were against my better judgement hoping to expand my lead, and now I'm paying for it dearly. I think I'm 8-4 heading into tonight's game. And I took ATL for the upset tonight, so if I lose this one I think you and I are tied again.

I call foul on the Rams! Steven Jackson was not supposed to play and that was why I picked the Lions. :gaah:

That's the problem I had last week. Picked against my better judgement trying to get ahead... and it cost me a place in the top 10

Yeah, but you edited your post after the games!

Actually, I don't believe that you changed anything, but we should be careful about editing any posts with our picks after the 11am Saturday deadline - hey, you could suddenly find me at the top of the winners list! :dancingbanana:

7-6. Stupid Rams. Also, I had a feeling I should have gone for Carolina, next time I'll listen a bit more to that instinct.

It doesn't matter if he edits his post after the games, I have everyone's pickes (as of 11am sunday) saved on my computer. So even if someone picks a losing team at 11, and changes it to the winning team after the fact, they will not get credit for it, as it's not what I have for their picks.
