Best Internet Browser?

15 posts in this topic

I am not the smartest when it comes to computers, so I am looking for a little help. I am looking to update my internet browser and don't know what to do. I have an old version of internet explorer. Should I update to the newest version or switch to something like firefox? Secondly, how do I update? Is there a specific website to go to? Is it safe for my cpu? These might be dumb questions, but I am clueless. I hope you fellow raven fans can help me out. Thanks in advanced.

Stay as far way from Internet Explorer that you can... get the latest version of FireFox ASAP.

I used to love firefox. I have been using this google chrome deal and love it. Its fast, and is basic, doesnt have all the bs at the top of the page, so you have a bigger screen

I love Firefox and my spouse who is a developer loves Chrome. I'm not much of a computer person and can do what ever I want with FF. Don't forget the plugs ins, Ad block and popup blocker are my favorites. I run that with yahoo toolbar and have no issues.

I don't know about the other "spoken for" guys here, but Internet Explorer's InPrivate browsing is awesome. Who's with me?

You know what I'm talking about.

Great, just give away all our secrets, why dont ya?? :D

@ OP

At the very least update your browser to Internet Explorer 8. Running old browser versions is not a great idea, plus you're missing out on some of IE's neat new features.

Personally I recommend Firefox, for many reasons. Plus, I made a Ravens theme for Firefox that you can download, more information is available here on the forums; PM me for more info.

Did you check out the add-ons yet? Go to Tools > Add-ons and you can browse through literally thousands of plugins and themes for the browser.

Not yet. I'm thinking about sending my laptop into Dell (screen needs to be replaced and my USB ports aren't recognizing certain hardware despite my reinstalling the drivers). So, I don't want to put too much time into getting it perfect until those idiots give it back to me....but I will definitely check it out afterwards....and probably have questions.

FYI - If the above post seems...."babblish" it's because I haven't yet finished my coffee.
