i would say.....(forget his name) but that 1 Defensive Linebacker that we were all talking about earlier about playing alongside Ray and what not...he'd be a good one and to Keep Suggs and whoever else on our team would be very nice!

yes! thats the guy lol i couldnt think of the guy's name LOL!.....he'd be a good addition to go after and we could use him in various defensive schemes and it would seem as though, he be a good fit in this type of system....and Playing alongside Ray Lewis, the Super Bowl 35 MVP, 8-time pro bowler, and Future Hall of Famer.....i mean who wouldnt?!?!?! :P Vilma would bring more speed, more vision and quickness and Agility to a Defense that has prided itself for Many many years of being one of the most Feared Defenses in the NFL.

lol yea and if u think about it the only place in our defense that is suffering is the cornerback position.....we need another shut down corner.....who knows how long this "illness" will be affecting samari rolle....if hes able to come back next year then we wont have all the problems we had this year at corner back....if we get another shut down corner then we'll REALLY have "depth" at the cornerback position and nobody will be able to pass on us.....plus having cory ivy and ronnie prude who will be in his third season next year.....defensive line, lineback, safety we got it covered.....BRING ON THE 08-09 season im excited to see who will be the new ravens this offseason

We used our second round pick on Gaither.

We gave up our third round pick for McGahee.

I think both of those moves were good decisions.

I'm betting we'll have a top ten pick in the first round.

The media is reporting they won't play beside each other - Vilma will replace Lewis - not me saying it but the Sun, Times, CBSportsLine, etc...

sure thats what they Suspect will happen..but all they REALLy do is just report what they THINK will Happen and what they think COULD Occur, Lewis is still playing at the Top of his game and is continueing to be a Defensive Playmaker and a Force to be reckoned with on the field (especially against the run, where when the ball is snapped, he's in the Hole even before the Running Back gets the ball! lol...talk about niiiiice)

Vilma is a great player but he will be way to expensive. I know I am ready to push the old guys out the door but I am not ready to say bye to Ray yet and I dont ever want to see him in any uniform that doesnt have Ravens on the front. I think if we dump Rolle, we should go after Asante Samual, if the Pats dont keep him or DeAngelo Hall, the Falcons may be interested in letting him walk. Imagine having either one of them with Reed, Landry and Chris, can you say unstoppable. Teams would be way to scared to throw the ball against us and they already cant run on us. I would also like to see us make a run at Larry Fitzgerald if he doesnt go back to Arizona. With him, Clayton, Williams, and Mason, we would have the best WR core in the league. Clayton has already been good but add Fitz to that and Clayton will be unstoppable and it will open up things for Williams deep. But all those are unlikely because just like we cant afford Vilma, we cant afford Samual, Hall, or Fitzgerald. My main focus for the offseason is keeping Suggs and having a good draft.

yea he would be a Good choice but we must remember to Keep an "open" mind about ALL our options here....our Scouts im sure have been very busy on taking notes on who is the best player(s) for us to take and will fit in VERY nicely here in our system here in Baltimore....

What about that linebacker at PSU who's been filling in nicely now that Paul Pusomethingorother is gone?

If you mean Dan Conner (#40), we won't select him mainly because he'll likely be an early-to-mid first-round pick, and he won't fall past the first round. And even if he were to fall to us in the first round, we have a more pressing need at cornerback than anything.

We're mostly covered on the offensive line but could use a late-rounder for depth, our receiving corps is stacked, and it'd be too risky to use a first-round pick on any other offensive position.

Defensively, the D-line is loaded, the linebacking corps is solid as always, and the safeties are fine, for the most part.

In order of need:

Cornerback

Running back

Offensive line

Tight end

Safety

Corner is the PRESSING need, either for an immediate/future starter or for depth. Running back needs depth since Musa Smith may no longer be a viable back-up, Mike Anderson has been udnerutilized and is now past the point where he would've had value, P.J. Daniels is a question mark since he's on injured reserve, and Cory Ross is better as a back-up returner. A legit #2 back is needed to relieve McGahee since there's an IMMEDIATE drop-off in production on the ground when McGahee is spelled.

Offensive line will need depth with Ogden's impending retirement this coming offseason and his injury woes IF he chooses to stay another year (unlikely). Mike Flynn will soon be retired or replaced, likely by Chris Chester. After that, insurance will be needed on all aspects of the O-line.

Tight end also needs a bit of insurance, since Quinn Sypniewski still needs to prove that he can produce on Wilcox & Heap's level, as his blocking skills are fine, but his receiving skills leave something to be desired. A fourth tight end to compete with Sypniewski might do the trick, and could at least spend time on the practice squad for further development.

Finally, safety falls under the same category as defensive backs in general, as some of the reserve safeties have doubled as reserve corners, but there still isn't enough depth there.

yea i agree, thats why we have "back up plans" and Top Players (other than the Top pick of the draft) to really get a good look at and determine on whether or not that player is worth going after or not....there could be "Late Bloomer" type of players in which may finally break out and play phenominal...we must also account for those kinds of players as well...there's a whole Mesh of possible Players and we could sit her eand debate who we would choose and whatever else. but i think it is best for us Fans to just sit back and wait to see what happens.....Ozzie is a Professional and the BEST GM in the Game today....and he hasnt let us down with any of his previous picks before...so lets just let him work and do his thing, he's surely able to bring (whoever that may be) playmakers, whether it be on Offense OR defense.

Wasn't that a fifth round pick? We gave up a few picks for McGahee, though.

He's good but I like Barnes and Burgess. If it does get to a point were we are offically out of the playoffs, I would like to see Barnes get some more playing time. Burgess is on IR, so we wont see him until next year.

Probaly a new corner for samari rolle and i think there will be an abundance of QBs on the market.so many injured and with there replacements in i think this will be a big year for QB trade.

I'm thinking moreso on the line of getting 2 draft picks, trading someone or the rest of our draft picks for some other teams' first round pick. I mean, we have all the weapons, why go for any other [bit less talented] people when you could draft 2 superstars that we desparately need to win games? (cb and qb)

Yeah, we dont have a 3rd or fifth round pick. If we trade Rolle we could probably pick up a 3rd and 5th round pick in exchange for him.

I dont think we should be trading rolle yet. We cant put in a rookie at a position like corner, and Ivy hasnt really proved he can get it done as a starter.

Maybe we can find a team who hasnt seen mcnair play this year, and get a third and a fifth for him.

agreed, i think Rolle still has it in him and we all see that when rolle IS out on the field, he makes the fans and his teammates more comfortable, knowing that he's over there covering and not just some rookie, we all saw last week how the younger players/rookies faired against the opponents passing game...scary, so Rolle is vital to us right now, at this point in time.

I dont know Corey Ivy played really well against Hines Ward.

I dont think Rolle is worth the money we pay him. He gives us more confidence but that doesnt say much. How many times did he get burned last year? To many to count. The reason it hasnt happened this year is because he hasnt really been playing. Why do you think Reed moved to FS and Landry moved to SS? Its because Chris rarely needs safty help. Rolle does need safety help and Landry being a rookie, last year, couldnt provide it.
