I voted no, only because I would like to think it was just a coincidence, but you do know another name for a group of Ravens is a conspiracy.

There are actually 5 teams who deal with this dilemma this year....

"This year is different because the Ravens aren't the only team with bye-week difficulties. The Atlanta Falcons play four teams coming off byes this season, and the Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans face three teams after their byes."
of those teams, the biggest marketed team would have to be the falcons... for the bronco's fans here marketing doesn't have as much to do with you record at the time.. but the ratings & sales your team makes... more or less media attention helps this alot

Im new to the board but oppose this so-called "Anomaly". We just need to deal with it and take it 1 game at a time. So what if the Steelers get our sloppy seconds by playing teams we literally tear up. This years Raven's team is amazing. I havent been disappointed by anything so far....even if we could be 6-0 coming off the bye. This team has been in a position to win every single game we've lost so far @ the end of the game and for a fan what more could you ask for? This team is really good and imo is the best in the league. We are better than the Steelers regardless of the scheduling and playing them will prove that once it becomes a Baltimore win. We'll be in a position to make the Steelers games count and am confident we will both be tied for the divsion lead and the 1st game on Sunday night will be HUUUGGGE in terms of determining a division leader.

Thanks for your time,
Chris Raven

Look man, conspiracy theories are way more fun than boring facts. Stop trying to rain on our parade!

Alex Jones just did a show, entitled, "Did David Rockefeller have input on the Ravens' schedule?"

Just FYI, England does not use the Euro as its currency. They still use pounds.

I've heard rumors flying around for years, but I've never seen an official announcement to that effect. I lived in England for 2 years, and I have a really hard time seeing the English people approve of a switch.

Do you happen to have any kind of official source for that claim? I'd be interested to know.

Don't know if anyone noticed, but we are in the midst of a three game stretch where our opponents are comming off a bye. I've never seen such a thing in my entire life. Who makes these schedules? Ok, I'll grant you that the Denver game isn't THAT bad because we were on a bye as well. But still... having to play 3 consecutive games against teams that get 2 weeks to prepare and scheme against us seems a bit ridiculous.

I don't consider myself a conspiracy believer, but the case against the league gets stronger and stronger year after year.

What are your thoughts?

No conspiracy theory. The NFL doesn't make money off of making Baltimore fail. If anything, continually stacking the odds against a team is just too much work and costs too much time and money to arrange.

The NFL is a business and wants all 32 teams to maximize its profits as much as possible. Yes, even the Lions and Browns.

This has been discussed. I don't think it's a conspiracy against Baltimore. I personally see the three-week stretch as a good team. The bye week can have a positive or negative effect depending on the where a team is. If a team is in the midst of a losing streak(like the Ravens were), the bye week gives the team time to sit down and make the necessary changes. If a team is hot, the bye week can cool them off a bit and lull them to sleep. That's what happened to Denver. Hopefully it happens to Cincy but even they come fired up, so will the Ravens and they'll win the game.

As for Cleveland, they can have two bye weeks straight to prepare for a team and they'd still get creamed.

To add another point, consider this: wouldn't the NFL be more biased against the Cleveland Browns, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Tampa Bay Bucs, the Detroit Lions, and other teams that have done far worse than the Ravens the past few years? I mean, if by bias, you mean the NFL wants teams to fail. Wouldn't the league already have "succeeded" far more with those teams?

Additionally, this conspiracy theory business makes us sound like whiners. Teams that are deserving of championships, take the game out of referees' hands. Good teams don't need the referees' calls to factor in whether or not they win or lose. Now, is that reality? No, not necessarily. But if the Ravens execute, then the refs won't matter.

It is strange, no doubt, but as Franchise says, it doesn't make fiscal sense for the NFL to concoct a conspiracy against any team; can you imagine the ramifications should something like that come out? The NFL would lose all legitimacy, and their billion-dollar enterprise would become nil.

People say that like we didnt have a week off last year... Yes it was only the second or third week of the season, but we still had a week off.
No, we did not have the week off, we had Sunday off. It was not until Friday that it was decided the game would played later in the year.

I agree with you to certain extent, that if the Ravens execute, bad calls won't matter, with the exception of bad calls made in close games. Even with the best possible execution, there will be games that turn on a penalty.

The facts cannot be ignored; There is just too much evidence that shows a bias against the Ravens. These "anomalies" seem to have started a few years back after Billick was overtly critical of the referees.

Not "whining", not "blaming losses on the refs", just an honest observation from a fan that dislikes that our team even has to think about a tilted view from the league.
