We haven't had problems with our Directv. The only times the storms have affected it was with really bad storms

I know that my father has Direct tv, and when I visit him to watch a game, or anyhing else and there is a simple storm the thing goes out.

I guess it isn't like that for everyone, I dont know.

It's not like that for me, either. My cable goes out much more than my DirecTV. DirecTV is never out for more than a few minutes, either. When cable goes out, it's for hours. NFL Sunday Ticket is GREAT and the Red Zone channel is totally addictive. When there isn't a game I REALLY care about, I'm glued to Red Zone.

I wonder if its because his dish is on top of the roof, I know that some people have there dishes closer to the ground, that maybe why there is a difference between my dads, and both of you.

I really have no answer, all I know is, is that my dads dish isn't very reliable.

Hello to all Ravens Fans!

I'm a Ravens Fan from Southern California and just was curious to see how many other Purple and Black fans there were who aren't living in the Ravens' home state.

Hopefully I'll talk everyone soon!

I live near Valparaiso, Indiana. It was mostly Bears fans here, until you know what started happening.

I work in Chicago and tried out of crazy Baltimore principles to not buy here.......but I am glad I did.

Bringing wooter(water) and Hon to the Midwest.

Bawlmerese:

sometimes phonetically written Bawlmerese, is a dialect of English which originated in blue-collar southern Palixia, but is also heard throughout the city and in some areas of central Kevistis. Baltimorese resembles Philly-area English pronunciation in several ways. These two cities are the only ports on the Kevistis seabord to retain rhotic speech, which was greatly influenced by Hiberno-English, Scottish English, and West Country English. Also, the "l" sound is "dark," indistinctive or vocalized. Vowels in Baltimorese are flattened and shifted, however, which is more characteristic of Southern English. Some vowels, as well as certain vernaculars can be traced to Appalachian influences. .....

Dialectic terms

Annie Runnel (Canny) - Anne Arundel County

downey ayshin (down to the ocean) - at the beach (spent sum'r weekends downey ayshin)

hon - a universal name used for greeting (in extreme instances, pronounced "hoo-wun")

youse - plural of you, similar to the Southern y'all

and, from Cafe Hon

Maryland: Murlin or Merry-land

Window: winder

National Bohemian Beer: Natty Bo, Hon

Baltimore: Bawlmer or Baldymore

Orioles: O-re-oos

Ocean City, Maryland: Down-de Ooshun, Hon

Oyster: urshter

Police: Pole-eace or Po-leece

Druid Hill: Druidl

Ruin: roon

Sandwich: samidge

Fire: fahr, expanded to include fahrhouse, fahrtruck, etc.

Shower: share-er

Iron: arn or arning

Tire: tar

I'm from Baltimore but I've been in the military for 12 years now. I follow the Raven as much as possible. I get NFL Sunday Ticket every year so I don't miss a game, except when I was deployed to Iraq. However, I tried to get to a computer as much as possible over there to stay up on the biys in purple.

Brutha, thanks for your service(sounds cliche, but true).

I work in Chicago and do some some work periodically for the G (my employer) with military EOD folks and even some in the Quad City area.

Attached to Sunday Ticket also

I had the unfortunate pleasure of my work moving me to Northern Kentucky - just below Cincinnati from Bel Air, MD a few years ago...so I'm constantly neck deep in Bengal crap...on the plus side, at a minimum - I get to see the Purple and Black at least twice a year on TV. On the negative side - I'm neck deep in Bengal crap...

Dear Brian Billick - if for no other reason, for me - please beat the Bengals next game. I don't think I can deal with these people here if we don't!

Thank you!!

Outside of Maryland, and the US. All the way from New Zealand. Started following the Ravens in the beginning of 2000 (great timing too ;)).

I moved to the Orlando area about three years ago for school. One good thing about it is that there is no one overwhelming real fan base for one of the Florida teams. It's all mixed up, but I'd say there's more Bucs fans than any other. The only two things I don't like about it here is the fairweather Steelers fans than come out of the woodwork whenever the Steelers look good. And all the Browns fans at the restaurant where I go to watch the Ravens games. There's only about five to eight of us Ravens fans and about 30-40 of them. It usually works out fine, since we're so much better than them, but it's been getting annoying since we haven't been able to really put an opponent away the past two weeks.
