Northern Virginia here. I use my sister's mailing address so that I can get every Ravens game on Baltimore local channels on satellite because the CBS affiliate here refuses to play Ravens games regularly.

Boy I miss getting games at home

What is up Y'all I am a Ravens fan in the Heart of Enemy territory Pittsburgh!! It is all good though they can not talk as much trash as they could in the past with the outright whipping the Ravens laid upon the Steelers last season. I am originally from Cumberland in Western Md, and that area is mixed with Steeler, Redskin, and Ravens fans so I was used to it as it was. It is nice to see the love spreading around for my Ravens!!

There used to be a Ravens Nest in Northern Virginia. It folded after six months. I went back to Nest 9 and one former member joined that Nest and drives from Arlington, VA to Bowie for meetings.

Nice. If things go according to plan I'll be back in the SD/OC area within a month. If things don't I'll still be stuck here.

Yay!

We are in the OC

Just like to say hello from blighty.

I am one of the UKRavens you may have seen in Baltimore at the Oakland game.

UKRaven visit to Baltimore

I have been a football fan since the mid 1980's.Played strong safety in England for 5 years in the 1990's.

Johnny U was the main inspiration for getting me to pick the Baltimore Ravens when they moved

from Cleveland.Before that I just followed star players,Walter Payton,Joe Montana,Dan Marino,

Steve Largent,Jerry Rice,Ronnie Lott etc etc.

P.S. When I did get to rub Johnny's foot outside the stadium,it almost brought tears to my eyes.

Hence the avatar.

this was a really cool post i like to hear of fans of football from overseas even better that you can feal the love and passion for this team and Heros from teams past. The Ravens is a one of a kind organization in football nowadays and its not hard to see that. I think it has somthing to do with the Charm City though fans have an old school mantality, they know who thier heros are and they stand behind them 100 percent till the end. ps what did you think of baltimore? i moved away 10 yrs ago and i still cant stop thinking about it oh and nice pic your lady is a hottie(sorry no offence intended) so cheers to you mate and just know we'll all be screamin our heads off the world over when we win the Superbowl

I loved Baltimore. It was my first time in America, and after a couple of days

we felt right at home.We have alot of friends in Baltimore who we got to

know on other forums beforehand.

That lady is just someone who posed in our picture, and seemed to hug me a bit to tightly.

The wife stayed at home.

More fun ladies.

The tailgate salute

What a fun looking bunch of drunks in your picture, RavenTD.

We had a good leader to lead us innocent young men astray. :P

MistaT some advice, work on your English accent, wrap a British flag

around your waist. And the party will find you in Baltimore, from my experience.

I'm in south-central Pennsylvania, which is about as close to Maryland as one can get without going over :)

In fact, I can usually make it to Fells Point in about an hour from my house, depending upon the time of day, the amount of traffic and the number of state troopers on the highways :D

...but to close to Pittsburgh. ;)

Just kidding, its always great to see a Ravens fan in PA. I always see Pittsburgh fans here in Baltimore, its a drag, but you have to live with it.

Wow, that's quite a distance, what led you to become a fan of the Ravens?

Well, I got back into following the NFL around about 2002. I was far enough away from the States that I had no geographical allegiance to anyone (Seattle and Minnesota would be the closest teams to me, but both are at least a thousand miles out). I knew I didn't want to cheer for a pretty-boy team like the Patriots or the Colts, regardless of who was winning games or Superbowls. I had a softspot for the 49ers, which I liked back in the 80s, and who employed CFLer and all-around tough guy Jeff Garcia. But what I really like is a team with a dominating run game, and a defense who could put the fear of god into anyone trying to move the ball. That left one option: The Ravens.

Cool man, how often do you get to see the ravens? Do you have some type of cable network that allows you to view all games?

Between the NFL Network and Sunday Ticket, my Ravens fix is well-nourished during the season. Up in Canada, the broadcast networks are pretty weak, so most people with TVs also have cable, and Sunday Ticket on digital cable is really quite inexpensive.

Certainly less so than it would be for season tickets and a 6,000-mile trip every Sunday.

Thats cool man, good thing for that Sunday ticket.

I would never be able to move somewhere away from Baltimore with out it. The only problem is that it comes with Direct tv, and the thing always goes out when theres a storm. That must suck, right?

We get it through the cable here. Direct TV is illegal in Canada, thanks to the rather strict cultural protection laws. All the satellite services are Canadian companies, most notably Bell Canada. However, in the cities, most everyone goes with digital cable, as it is at least as good as satellite, without any of the disadvantages.

We haven't had problems with our Directv. The only times the storms have affected it was with really bad storms
