Ravens Fans not living in Maryland

145 posts in this topic

Hello to all Ravens Fans!

I'm a Ravens Fan from Southern California and just was curious to see how many other Purple and Black fans there were who aren't living in the Ravens' home state.

Hopefully I'll talk everyone soon!

I'm a fan living in Newark, DE...but at least I have the somewhat-good fortune of living close enough to Maryland to not be the only Ravens fan here. But, it sucks to be a fan here in Eagles country...plus, I never get to go to any games, even though Baltimore's only about an hour or so away from here...

Well I'm all away across the Atlantic ocean approximatley about 4000 miles away. So at best I get to watch Monday Night Fotball every week to I really should be asleep as it airs about 01.00 a.m.

But you do what you can being so far away and getting hooked on fotball by the 2000 season, Ravens was the clear pick for me and I've stuck with it since then.

Another SoCal Fan here. My wife and I use to live in Glen Burnie though. We live in Fountain Valley now.

We are use to being the only Ravens fans at the bar. We are always looking for more though.

I'm in south-central Pennsylvania, which is about as close to Maryland as one can get without going over :)

In fact, I can usually make it to Fells Point in about an hour from my house, depending upon the time of day, the amount of traffic and the number of state troopers on the highways :D

I am in the heart of Redskins territory my friends... however, it doesn't bother me one bit. I'll still enjoy watching my games amidst the swarm of burgundy and gold jerseys at the local watering hole. I think they are wondering where I got my purple converse hightops ;-)

I've been here for about 10 years, so I was here then.

We've probably passed each other several times. If you were wearing Raven purple, I may have even said hi. :)

Vanity Fair, either in Reading or at the outlets on the other side of town, has great gear.

You can usually get t-shirts and sweatshirts for $10 or so. That's where I get the majority of my Ravens clothes.

Actually, it's so inexpensive that I wound up with hardly anything that didn't have a Ravens logo. I recently had to force myself to buy other shirts so I had something casual to wear besides purple or black.

Maybe I should stay away from there then. :D

I'm from Baltimore but I've been in the military for 12 years now. I follow the Raven as much as possible. I get NFL Sunday Ticket every year so I don't miss a game, except when I was deployed to Iraq. However, I tried to get to a computer as much as possible over there to stay up on the biys in purple.

I usually wear a jersey to Disneyland (got season passes) and every once in a while someone stops and comments.

My wife and I often go there after football games so a lot of people ask me for various scores of all the games while in line.

Good topic, grew up in Hampden, now I live in Missouri thank g_d for Nfl Sunday ticket. I have tried to make myself a Rams or even a Chiefs fan so I could

root for a home team and see more games in person, but no such luck. That Baltimore thing really sticks with a person I guess. Have a great weekend everyone.

I am in the middle of Jets and Giants country here in Owego, N.Y. have been a fan since 1996, only because of the fact I loved how Ray Lewis played. But yea, Owego, N.Y. is the name, but Purple and Black are the freaking game forever!!!!!!!!!!!

I lived in Baltimore from 64-83 and moved across the bay for a

more managable pace of life. My sister (whos husband is a donkey fan from Co.)

turned me on to the idea that footbal is the only accepted excuse to

sit on the sofa and drink beer all of sunday afternoon.

The beer was good but something was missing.

Then the planets altered there respective orbits, got into single file and brought me

a team I could call my own without having to hijack a wagon.

There is something about the RAVENS that makes many other fans

wish they had not sworn alegence to other teams.

Much of the hatred stems from their envy. There are many Eagle,Redskin,Steeler,Jets,Bucs,Bronco fans on the Eastern Shore. (Giants fans were driven into obscurity in 2000)

Few share the passion of Raven Fans.
