My vote for worst is Travis Taylor. He's the antithesis of soft hands. Ever notice that when he attempted to make a catch, it sounded like the ball was slamming into concrete? Talk about a first round bust!

Too many to decide on favorite though. Lewis, Reed, Boulware, Ogden, this list could go on for a while.

This may come as a surprise, but Ed Reed is my favorite Raven of all time.

I can understand why Kyle Boller is in the running for the worst Ravens if for no other reason than the fact that he was here for so long, but I can name quarterbacks that are worse than him. I can't say that I've seen a cornerback that is worse than Carr so I'm going to give my vote to him.

I'd take Ivy over Carr easily. Both of them get burned, but at least Ivy could tackle, and I don't think he was such a failure at special teams either.

Chris Carr can tackle if hes not already on the ground after the ball is snapped

Boller didn't live up to his draft position. How many of his games were bad as compared to how many of them that were good? Add to that the intangible things like poor pocket presence, carelessness with the football, and you have a the makings of a poor draft choice. These kind of things should be recognized by the scouting department and drop his overall draft position on your board accordingly. Its pretty much a no brainer to me. I like the kid, he had heart and wanted to play for this city. He had some special games like the monday night game against the patriots a couple of seasons ago. But that game will always belong to Willis Mcgahee.

Chris Carr is without a doubt the worst Raven ive ever seen.I knew when he fair
caught a punt in preseason with noone within 15 yards of him we were in big trouble. You know
which play im talking about.I think Harbaugh chewed him out after that play.

Picking Chris Carr really shows how short sighted some fans can be, this is his first season with Baltimore and we're not even done with it, how can he possibly be the worst?

Yeah, I remember. He also way overcorrected the next time by catching one with a guy a foot away who creamed him. His fair catch/return decisions are terrible, usually the exact opposite of what he should do.

Thats how bad hes been in those 6 games though lol. My pick still goes with Pittman, just as bad as Carr in coverage and just didnt care about football.

Mike Flynn is up there for me - the professional turnstile for an opposing D-line. Gary Baxter was pretty bad too.

I liked Boller a lot - not so much his play but his heart and tenacity. Great respect for a dude that basically got booed out of town. And nowhere near as bad as some of our other QBs - Anthony Wright for one...

At least Ivy could blitz and tackle while being bad in coverage. Carr is just bad in coverage.

Added to the "worst" list (perhaps we should call them the "most disappointing") along with guys like Mitchell, Jenkins, Case and the like would have to be Antonio Langham. Sadly, of the current crop of Ravens Chris Carr has to be on that list , at least based on his six-game performance. But, I'm not sure it's fair to put a guy on the list who has only played six games for us. There are plenty of guys who qualify as favorites -- Reed, McCrary, Ray Lewis, Jermain Lewis. But, I would have to add Jim Leonhard to the list. He was only here for one year but talk about a guy who made plays. Two very significant off-season mistakes -- losing Leonhard and adding Carr.

My favorite was the old one Rod Woodson, tons of heart on the field and a nasty hitter.I hated Travis Taylor never did anything ,player that went through the motions on the field never tried very hard.

corey ivy, yes...as much as i disliked him. He IS better than Carr. Walker might be about equal with carr but he is placed on the outside more often than not, and i think Carr would REALLY struggle out there so yeah, i think carr is the worst of the the 3.

Watching Boller throw into triple coverage because he was about to get hit used to ruin entire weeks for me. He had all the composure of a cat in a thunderstorm.

As for best you can't go past Ray. In 14 seasons he almost single handedly forged the identity of the Ravens as a defensive powerhouse.

You consider Rod Woodson among the top three? I'm not starting an argument, I just found it interesting. What about Dilfer, Jamal, Stover, Jermaine or even Mason?
[/quote]
Heap, McCrary, Siragusa, McAlister, Suggs, Jackson, BOULWARE!!!

I chose Kyle Boller over Carr. Even thought Carr has proved to be worthless, he's not even a starter. Kyle Boller was a starter and lost us more games than Carr. I've seen him trip over his own feet and sack himself. If you want to go with worst player of all time I'd have to say Willie Gaston. He made Carr seem like McAlister.

Corey Ivy was beat because he is small, but he also made some plays. I remember sacks, picks, and a few fumble recoveries. Ivy wasn't great, but not worst ever.
However I do like your pick of Todd Heap.

I must say I like the Goose. Freaking hilarious. I know I'm a jerk for this one, but I was watching the DVD of the Playoffs of our Superbowl run and he just flopped on a quarterback (going on memory, cant remember which QB or team, for that matter) with all of his weight and I couldn't stop laughing. LOL. I'm surprised the guy didn't die. It makes me think of how much they call roughing the passer now, and how he probably would've been ejected in a game between us and NE. His overall swagger is representative of Ravens Defense.

Ivy was better than Carr and maybe Walker too. Ivy didn't run his mouth and get penalties like Frank or get manhandled as bad as Carr. Ivy was apart of the Buccaneers' Defense in 2003 and has a Super Bowl ring (Not that he was their #1 CB or anything), but he was a good open field tackler and good ST contributor. He would sometimes come up short in coverage because he was short and got picked on for it, but he was apart of some big plays in his day. I'd rather have him blitz than cover because he's so small he gets lost and no one seemed to pick him up on his way to the QB. Carr and Walker are more physically gifted than Ivy, but play poorly and have given up way more plays or committed more penalties than Ivy. Would I start Ivy? No. Am I glad we got rid of him? Yes. Walker and Carr have more potential than Ivy, but haven't shown anything. You can make an argument Walker is better. He did play well last year and saved a TD against SD this year, but recently he has committed penalties that have lost us games. Ivy has never put us in that situation.

at least Ivy was an effective blitzer and before his near death in 07 he was actually an ok nickel.
