Judge Refuses To Dismiss Rape Suit Against Big Ben

In thinking about this, wouldn't the hotel have video of the hallways, elevator's etc that would either help prove or disprove this woman's allegations?

If Ben settles out of court, would the NFL pursue a suspension against him?

I don't think the NFL would pursue a suspension if they settle out-of-court, because a settlement doesn't mean there's an admission of guilt (even though the court of public opinion assumes such); settlements are sometimes reached to avoid a long, drawn-out legal process that could take months or (rarely) years to finish.

The more these details are coming out, the more it seems as if the woman really is intent on bringing down Big Ben for either cash or to ruin his reputation. I think the judge assumes that he's guilty just because he's gotten off easy before for being a celebrity -- might not be the case here.

Not really for us to decide, though. Clearly, the case has had no effect on him on the field thus far.

i really dont feel it warrents a suspension. i mean she waits how long before she trys to sue him? i smell a rat and its not the lawyers for once. dont get me wrong i dont like ben but i hate how women can throw themselves at guys and then later come back an act like they didnt want to do what they did. i had a friend who went to jail over a stupid b***h like that because her parents found out she was messing with a black guy. im not saying that this is the same situation but it does frustrate me. now if he really did rape her then i will feel sorry and stand corrected but to me this just doesnt seem right.

That's a good question. I pretty sure Ben wants to have the decision made by the courts so he can clear his name. I also believe that he'll go after his accuser with everything he's got. However, if he settled I'm not sure the NFL could do anything. It wasn't exactly a night club or alcohol incident. It's an accusation and it depends on how convinced the commish is of Bens side of the story and what an NFL investigation reveals. That said, I doubt he'd have an consequences there.
