Samari Rolle Makes It Official (Somewhat)

As per PFT, Samari Rolle is most likely going to retire. If its true I appreciate the effort he gave as a corner, and am truly scared about our secondary now unless Webb grows by leaps and bounds.

Yeah, I read this, it's pretty sad:

["Rolle admits that his career is likely over.

"I'm going to sit down with my family and listen to what my doctors have to say," said Rolle this week. "I've had two neck surgeries and at my age, unless they show me something scientifically that says I can't hurt myself again, then I'm done."]

And... the corners are set, for better or worse - barring a free agent pickup.

My thoughts exactly. He had a great career, now it's time to heal and take care of himself.

Guy had a great career as a cover corner for the Titans and Ravens, all you can do is applaud him and regret the loss.

When they talk about a "silky smooth" coverage CB, Samari was that in his prime, just an agile shadow all over a receiver. He was always a high character guy.

Rolle, you are not a HoFer but you were a beast. Very underrated. Crazy the difference a year makes. Last year it was McAlister and Rolle starting for us in the beginning now its Washington and Foxworth.

I've always been a Rolle fan, great guy and a great player. It was sad for me to see him go down last season. After I heard about his surgeries, I saw his retirement coming, unfortunately. Thanks for all the years of great work. You were a very under rated cornerback, good luck, Samari.

Much thanks to Samari and what he has brought to the Ravens defense, but he definitely has to look to his own future and health.
