They need to bench Carr, Webb would then return the punts, and get some time at Nickel. He can't play any worse then Walker and Carr are playing already. Use that spot to activate Kruger and at least use him on passing downs.

I don't understand why they keep sending bums like Carr on the field, taking up spots for other guys that could do SOMETHING at the very least.

Webb should be the kick returner but I think Zibikowski or Nakamura should be returning punts. As bad as the tackle attempt from the punter was, this was a sweet return: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t89zYrTfJ5w

The only reason I see Carr still playing some nickel or dime is because of the penatlies Walker draws.

Perhaps because moving Carr to the inactives would be the front office admitting they made a mistake. He has performed TERRIBLE for us so far, but he is still a veteran who has game time. I think they are all wishfully thinking he will turn things around, but their shades are too purple to admit a mistake.

Edit - not a knock on the coaching staff, just me trying to apply some logic to this bogus situation.

I guess harbs has improved some areas but as a whole I feel like the francise is going the wrong way....drafting 3-4 linebackers for ten years including kruger then switch to a 4-3, thats crazy. You only do that when your rebuilding (make drastic changes)

That is a credible theory. It sort of reminds me of the coaches not wanting to start Flacco because they didn't want to "throw him to the wolves" so to speak even though Kyle Boller was clearly a failure at the point.

On the other hand there is the Willis McGahee/ Ray Rice situation so I don't know. I hate to say it, but it just seems like things fell apart for the defense, from the top (FO) to the bottom (scrubs like Walker).

Let's hope they get back on their feet before it's too late to salvage a playoff appearance.

If that's the case they need not admit to anything - Carr's game play is proving they did.

McClain wins that role not Barnes. I agree with Bltravens, he needs to be situational pass rusher.

Speaking of Mattison, I think its bull crap that his son is on our practice squad when other guys out played him....

This is the NFL, not middle school football where coaches son doesnt get cut.
Who outplayed him? Oh wait, you don't know because you aren't at practices, games, or team meetings. Give credit to the guy for making the team DESPITE having his dad on the staff. He had more scrutiny because his dad is the DC.

IMO it is a joke that we let paul be inactive, hes a 2nd round pick and plays with a lot of heart. get him in to the game when the other players are getting tired he has all the tools to get it done

y arent we using tommy as a PR cause last year he was returning kicks but did not return punts because leonhard was a stud at returning punts and now leonhard is gone and we need a new PR
