Why After A Bye Week Do We Play A Team On Bye

9 posts in this topic

Why after Ravens bye week do we play a team that comes off a bye also?

All other NFL teams coming off a bye week play a team that played the previous week. (there is one exception this year Jags/Titans)

Last year there was none

It just always seems the NFL puts it to the Ravens whenever they can!

I'm not complaining, just an observation

Whats your option on this?

Well the Steelers get the Broncos after the Bye. After we beat up on them too. They also get our beating leftovers on the Minny game too. Must be nice.

Yeah, that bothers me more than having both teams coming off the bye and playing each other.

Coming into the season, the Ravens had one of the easiest schedules in the league. So I wouldn't say we got shafted.

It's just coincidence.

all that stuff is based on speculation and comparing to what each team did last year. We have obne of the hardest schedules at this point going by what teams have done THIS YEAR.

Well, if you're using that logic, you could say the Broncos are getting shafted, too.

The Broncos moreso. We just played SD after their bye week, we play the Ravens after our bye week and your bye week, AND we play pittsburgh after that, them coming off their bye week.

So the Broncos have 3 games in a row against teams coming off a bye week. Is that fair? No. Are we complaining? No That's just how the schedule fell this year.

Besides, do you really think it makes that much difference? There are certain coaches that always do well after a bye, but typically teams coming off a bye have no more success than normal.

It does in the AFC North. You'll notice a lot more guys on your injury report after you play the Ravens or Steelers.

So you are really getting shafted when you'll have to play the Steelers the following week. We're getting shafted because the NFL loves the Steelers.

Pretty sure there are folks complaining about it on your forums. I live just north of Denver, and people are complaining about it here too.
