Joey Galloway

The Patriots released Joey Galloway today, this means there is still hope for us getting a decent reciever. Do you think he will still be productive or not?

According to PFT (Yes, I know - it's some guy in West Virginia, sitting in his underwear and typing his opinions... :))... The Ravens are interested in Galloway.

For what it's worth (not much, IMO).

think about it though, even though he hasnt done anything this year yet, he was pretty good a few years ago and thats a step up from dropping a game winning ball in the final minute.

Actually, I think you should think about it:

A 37 year old guy who's main asset is/was his speed, and now he can't catch or run routes.

Look, let me make it simple. If Tom Brady cant make you look good, then are you really worth the time?

ouch, good post man. the only thing i can really think of to counter that would be that he was only active for 3 games, so maybe he was injured. but i dont know the whole story so dont quote me. All i know is that i saw him play in tampa a few years back and he was excellent.

I feel pretty good with the recievers that we have. We really need to focus on the secondary...if something could have been done trade wise, that is where the help was needed. Sure, theres always room for improvement on our offense but really...can we really complain about how their playing right now?

I'm not going to say it's a good or bad move but here is the latest from the ESPN rumor mill

"Galloway heading down I-95?

Joey Galloway has not had much impact this season for the New England Patriots, especially given his recent tendency to be scratched by the team in spite of being healthy. The situation came to a head on Tuesday, as the Pats released Galloway, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

There had been growing speculation during the past two weeks that the Baltimore Ravens might be interested in trading for Galloway, and by waiting the Pats out, they now can have him for free. In spite of rough going during this season and last, in 2007 Galloway eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving and added six touchdowns."

I hate having too many really old players on the team, always makes me worry about longevity and the upcoming seasons. I thought he might have something to offer the Patriots, but if they can't find a way to utilise him with Brady, then who can?

That "guy" made an awesome touchdown grab to put us back in the game on Sunday....
Galloway was riding the pine.

Please no, the last thing we need is trying to start a reciever that has no place with an NFL team at 37 years old. Besides our offense is just fine, its top 5 in the league at the moment. Theres no issue in the WR position, not until Mason retires but we can draft a guy for that.

His knees would give out if he played again, this is probably the end of his career.

This was already talked about yesterday on here, Galloway already worked out with the Chiefs yesterday, no word on signing though!

We do not need Galloway. The only "reasonable" WR I would take from the Patriots is Kyle Edelman. He is Wes Welker Lite.

He does not make this team better Stick with D Williams riding the pine as the better alternative
