How long/ever does it take for your "warn status" to go away or back down?

I took care of sig/avatar but you need to be good for 6 months for the other. We use the warning system for sigs/avatars because it logs everything and anyone can fix it AND most people ignore PM's from the mods. Stay in the Code of Conduct and you will be fine.

thanks, I just knew it was a while since the avitar issue, and don't worry. I try to keep to myself. It was a problem where I haden't read the rules, I understand them now.

It lets you know how close you are to getting banned for violating the Code of Conduct.

how can you find out what you were warned for? I dont recall doing anything the least bit inflammatory, and out of nowhere my warn status has gone up????

It just tells me who did it, why, and at what time. It doesnt tell me what post it was in reference to...
...and it says "excessive profanity" That doesnt make sense cuz I never work around the profanity filters, so anything I said was filtered, that shouldnt deserve any warning.

An asterisk-laden post will earn you a warning, too, not just circumventing the filter.

Don't worry, I got dinged for this once myself. I didn't bypass the profanity filter, but I did unleash an asterisk-filled fury.

It was well worth the venting, because I really felt that way about the Pittsburgh Steelers.

(Edit: maybe I did bypass the profanity filter. And I also wished harm. Man I was angry. That's pretty cool you can read the whole warning status time line. I didn't notice this untill just now.)

If you don't repeat the violation for a while (at least 30 days), you can PM the mods to have your warning removed.

The Code of Conduct took a beating around here yesterday and the 2 weeks prior with the Bronco trolls. It was bad yesterday. An occasional slip up will not get you in trouble and we are usually a bit more tolerant in the game thread, Yesterday was overload. We have 2 pages of deleted posts and that does not include the posts that were "fixed".

Yes, permanently. The idea is, it takes a lot to get banned (unless you're a trolling fan of another team just here to talk smack), so if you've actually filled up the bar, then you've shown that you can't follow simple common-sense rules and don't deserve to be here.

The thing is, because the warnings can be removed upon request 30 days after each violation (assuming there are no other violations in-between), there are plenty more than just second or third chances. So if you blow it, then you're gone.
