Merged: Week 7 Power Rankings

28 posts in this topic

So we didnt move this week even with the loss. I dont have much comment on the rankings this week pertaining to the Ravens. I do however have a major gripe. Until now, the Patriots have been one spot ahead of us and the Jets one spot ahead of them - even though the Pats had a worse record initially - b/c of the head-to-head with the jets beating the pats and the pats beating us. I was fine with that...

That being said, can someone explain why the Bengals, who are leading the Division, and beat pittsburgh head-to-head are rated below the squealers????

Not sticking up for the bengals, just trying to prove the invalidity of this list.

That is confusing lol. But who thinks we would have a stronger rating if McAllister was playing as corner instead of Foxworth? I dont think we would have lost our 3 games if he was back in Baltimore. As of now, he is still a free agent. The only reason he has not been signed is that the coach doesn't have a good relationship with the player.

At least we didn't drop any but like others I don't put much stock in the rankings. Any given sunday a team could rise up. How many expected the raiders to beat the eagles this past week?

How the steelers are up there before the freakin Bengals blows my mind it just goes to show how bias ESPN is. They let Cleveland and Detroit have close games with them and the Bengals lose in a shoot out against an amazing offense. It sickens me that so many professional writers like a city full of rednecks and steel workers.

Well the Bengals did lose to the Texans at home, so I'd put Pittsburgh higher than them.

But than again, who cares about power rankings?

Because the Texans shredded the Bengals, just like the ranking said. It wasn't like the Bengals owned the steelers in the game they won and its one freaking spot...

Its not like the Steelers are ranked 5 spots higher than the Bengals. Also, the Bengals lost one of their top defensive players for the year and the Steelers got back Troy..

If you had the Steelers play the Bengals this week, who honestly thinks the Bengals would win???

If the bengals and ravens had the same record and the ravens beat them everyone would be ****ing. I don't care if they beat the steelers by one point and then lost 59-0. If you have the same record, actually a better one bc or the division record, AND you beat them, then at that point you are better, period!!!!!

Thanks for the wasted post. Feel free to discuss number 11 in the ranks, but I thought that glaring innaccuracy needed to be pointed out

I'm glad the jets finally moved down. The first 3 weeks they were ALL over Mark Sanchez's jock even though he played awful. The terrible offense display and loss to the saints they went UP and they said "D PLAYED AWESOME" The next week the D gets smoked by the dolphins(rofl) on national TV and they say "BRAYLON EDWARDS LOOKED GREAT". I was ready after this week to see a "MARK SANCHEZ SHOwED GREAT PROMISE HANGING IN THERE" thank god they came to there senses.

Hello, this week in the rankings we are ranked 13th again.
I get this info from http://powernfl.com/

They got us at the same spot, even though we almost knocked off the now 6-0 vikes...

I'm glad we didn't go down, but the fact that they went up shows that beating us is a great thing, meaning we gettin respect.

whatchya think...

Thinking that this thread is gonna get merged with the other power rankings thread.

I heard that they were gonna base the playoff teams this year off the week 17 ESPN power rankings list.

power rankings are the strength of the team not the seeding

yes the bengals are seeded higher but they arent a better team

At this point and time they beat both the Ravens and Steelers. Until a team beats them, they are better. Power rankings are just someones opinion. Seeding shows who is having a better season.

your right but at different points in a season a team can be two different teams.. although seeding shows how you are doing it doesnt always mean how good you are at any given time

hence the invention of Power Rankings

for example the steelers without troy is not the same team power wise as the steelers with troy

getting troy back ups our power not our seeding
