Fantasy Frustration!

132 posts in this topic

My team was dominating this week, with Ray Rice and Marques Colston having huge games. I had a sizeable lead until Matt Hasselbeck stunk it up for 0 points, compounded my opponent having the Cardinals defense!

I was angered but hoped Matt Forte, who I took with the number 2 overall pick, could save me against a mediocre Falcons run defense. His response: 3 fantasy points, including 15 carries for 23 yards with a fumble.

Fantastic. Furthermore, this IDIOT with probably the worst team in the league is somehow 5-1!!!! He has MJD and seriously no-one else; half his team is off the waiver wires each week! Meanwhile I'm stuck at 3-3.

So I started this thread for those who get equally frustrated at the fickle game of fantasy football. Feel free to vent your frustrations here also!

Lol, what's your team record after six weeks? I've fallen to 3-3.

My team is:

QB: Tony Romo/Matt Hasselbeck
RB: Matt Forte, Ray Rice, Larry Johnson, Mike Bell, Felix Jones
WR: Marques Colston, Dwayne Bowe, Greg Jennings, Nate Burleson
TE: John Carlson
D/ST: Ravens
K: Robbie Gould

Currently trading Felix Jones and Nate Burleson for Maurice Jones-Drew and Patrick Crayton (who will be waiver wire fodder). Man I pray that goes through, having those backs and receivers would be amazing!!!

I'm doing pretty well this year. 5-1 in my 12-team-1K-winners league. First overall.

But my frustration is the upcoming week. Too many of my WRs are on bye and I'm short. And on top of that, The guy I'm playing is tied with me but way behind in points. So he has an easy path to 1st place. Even though I'm dominating our league.

Week 7 receivers:
Dwayne Bowe
Earl Bennett
*missing*

pathetic

I lost to my friend who was 0-5 before last week, hadnt set his team for injuries and fixed his lineup for our game... typical... handing wins to opponents the beating me.

Barring last week, they've been good. Averaging over 14 points a game, we've scored several defensive touchdowns remember even in games where lots of yards were given up.

But isn't fantasy football all about the yards? The Ravens gave up over four-hundred yards in the air in week 2 and then proceeded to give up two 100+ yards on the ground.
Not to mention allowing nearly 30 points to be scored in week 2 and week 4 and allowing more than 30 on Sunday.
That seems like it would hurt a fantasy team, but then again, I've never played.

don't mean to be negative, but he would be foolish to make that trade.. especially with MJD playing better now... He might turn around and ask for ray rice .. just saying..

I have like 6 different teams and I went like 3-3... in one of my leagues tom brady caused me a loss... cause i had to play against him... I was up like 140- <100

by the end of it all I had like 150-160.. he had 230... tom brady put up 90 points in that league.. he had brady

also forgot to put ray rice in the starting line up in one of my leagues.. that cost me a loss of 101-86 :/ (he had 30 points)

Try to pick up Austin Collie if he isn't already gone. That kid was something else at BYU, and now that Gonzalez is hurt he's getting lots of catches.

Collie is long gone. The league is a DEEP 12 team league. But actually I found Coles sitting on the waiver. He should be serviceable enough this week (Hopefully), he did finally have a good game against Houston. But who doesn't?

you could take a chance on crabtree... odds are maclin or avery might still be available... if nothing else you could throw a trade for someone like manningham

That other player would be crazy to make that trade. Oh well, we'll call you New England and call him Oakland. :)
Are there any Dallas fans in your league? See if you can trade Romo for a better QB. He and Hasselbeck have been very inconsistent this year.

Well yes, but 2 sacks and say an interception return TD guarantees you 10 points even if you give up 4,000 yards in a game lol.

230? Good grief. He did make that trade by the way, MJD is on my team now. Hopefully Forte sorts it out then I have those two plus Rice!

its an IDP and the scoring is kind of inflated.. but yeah lol almost cried when I saw that tom brady in that game scored more points than most teams in standard leagues

*gasps* you sir, have now done the unthinkable...

I can safely say I wasn't put into that position seeing as I didn't get a chance to pick them up in any of my leagues :)

Romo is picking it up again with Miles Austin, he'll be top 5 or just outside it by seasons end.

I kept them on my bench for bye week, I have faith!!!

Ok guys, I have the ULTIMATE fantasy complaint!!!!!!! Has anyone seen that outrageous Hakeem Nicks touchdown? Where Rodgers-Cromartie tipped the ball way up and Nicks caught it and took off? That cost me my game!!!! My opponent needed 11 points from Hakeem Nicks.... I feel so robbed!!!!

Hakeem Nicks is a fantasy enigma. His last three TD's have really been flawed. The deflection TD ofcourse. And the other two being Garbage Time TDs with passes from David Carr.

I went from first to third this week. I started the Bears D against Cinci they didn't even record a point. No sacks or turnovers. Way to many points scored. I also started Shaun Hill as my flex - figuring the 49ers would have a shoot out with Houston. 49ers benched him for reasons really unknown.

What's frustrating is I lost to a guy that 2nd last in points scored in the league yet he's second. The only guy that's scored less than him, is a guy that gave up and his starting players are always on bye. I lead the league in points scored - just drives me crazy.

Seems like that for me as well, just like some NFL teams, win the tough matchups, but play down to the weaker ones.

Yeah, I was really annoyed, especially as my mate and division rival rubbed it in my face the rest of the day!

Oh man, I hate those disasters and losing to lesser teams. I've already lost to 11th and 12th place in the league... it's not cool!

I have Steve Slaton. After that gem he gave me last week, I just read that Houston is going to try a "three headed monster". He and Moats will split most of the carries, and Brown will get the short yardage carries. :gaah:

My other backs are Ray Rice (Obviously, he's not going to the bench!), Westbrook and Kevin Smith, both of them are playing injured. I have no idea who to start this week! :34853_brickwall:

No doubt. The person I played this week took him out at the last minute (lucky for me).
I had Brees in today, with McNabb on the bench. Fortunately, still won....

If not. The guy I played beat me with pretty much Brandon Marshall & Tom Brady.
