The Undefeated Broncos

6-0 Bronco's, the surprise of 09 come to the Bank after both teams have a bye week.

I think this is the perfect opportunity to reclaim our season, toppling an undefeated team, and I do think it will happen. There is just too much riding on the emotions of the Ravens to give up this game.

This should be the turnaround point for our season, still only down 1 game from the top of the North. Looking forward to seeing Broncos 6-1.

What do we need to do?

I just watched that game, that defense really is something. Denver possesses great pass rush, run stoppers and down-field coverage. Orton manages the game brilliantly.

Our corners really need to man up for this game or Brandon Marshall will throw them around like little children. I'd say we need to get a lot of pressure on Orton. A good thing about Denver is they aren't a big play offense - most big plays coming on runs or catch and runs.

Denver is a run-first team; we must get back to stuffing the run. Force Orton to make some plays in the passing game. Gaither should be back; Dumervil will be a real test of the edges for our big tackles - his finesse and power from a low centre of gravity make him a nightmare against large tackles.

Will be a close game. Denver has conceded 10 points in the second half all season. My oh my!

Nice try, but you clearly were not being sarcastic. Nothing about that post is remotely sarcastic! Don't try and hide a faux pas with that weak excuse lol.

This could be good or this could be disastrous. Imagine coming off a bye and going 3-4 and losing 4 straight. We really need to buckle down, hopefully players will show some motivation and train a little on their rest days or at least just come in and watch some film or watch it from home. This team is scary after watching the game... going into San Diego on a Monday night game that's do or die for San Diego. Man this Defense is good... If they don't buckle under the pressure of playing in San Diego we are in for one of the toughest games of the year.

Well, if losing three straight games, by a total of eleven points, isn't a wake up call then we are going to be in big trouble. I think our offense will do well, because even with Gaither out we have a solid O-line. Our defense is what needs to step up the most. I hope for his sake that Harbs makes it clear that being 21st in scoring defense is unacceptable.

It bothers me to hear our players and coaches say, "we're the same team we would be at 6-0". If they don't understand the seriousness of what they are up against than they are in for a rude awakening. You can't win on potential, that's the most useless excuse known to man. You either execute or you don't. Results are all that can be readily measured and so far we've have only finished 3 of the games that we've played.

Anyone still disagree that we don't want a big name receiver by tomorrow? If the Charger WR corp has trouble how will Clayton and Mason do?
They didn't have real trouble, the coverage was good and their was excellent pass rush. A lot of the time Rivers just had no time to throw.

We should have signed Mike Nolan

Its amazing how he turned around a TERRIBLE Broncos D to an outstanding one
Not to disregard Nolan's work, but that defense also has eight new starters from last year. They're experienced too, veterans throughout the secondary. Andre Goodman is an underrated cornerback.

your right Reed the pass rush was excellent... but I had no idea how scary that Broncos secondary was. I thought it was still the 08 Broncos with the only big player being Champ. The other reason Rivers couldn't execute effectively besides the pass rush was the fact they had those Chargers WR's covered pretty well.

Well I know that Nolan has better corners to work with there. At least Bailey is way better than any of the corners we have. The D-line in Denver is strictly no-names. Kind of reminds me of the buddy lees. I miss hitting people in the mouth on defense. I hope that we can get back to that.

To be fair, Champ Bailey is an amazing cornerback. 8x Pro Bowler...

Loved the way they used Dumervil. The D-line basically isolated him to make it one-on-one and he made plays on 3rd down. Good overall team both offensive and defense wise.

If this isn't a game to show our true colors and bounce back, I don't know what is...

Dumervil reminds me of James Harrison, who reminds me of Greg Lloyd. Just a solidly built dude on the corner who usually has his way with much bigger offensive tackles.

What do we need to do? We need to not give up 30 points on defense. And we need to run the ball much more than 18 times! Not because we can't pass, but because it will keep our defense off the field and give the Broncos very limited opportunities to develop any kind of chemistry on offense.

Anyone still disagree that we don't want a big name receiver by tomorrow? If the Charger WR corp has trouble how will Clayton and Mason do?
They will probably do the same they always do. The Chargers couldn't protect Rivers long enough to throw those deeper passes he likes to throw. The Ravens don't have that problem because they don't mind doing the shorter passes. I don't recall the Chargers running one screen pass last night(yes, I'm sure there were a couple), and that is how you stop the opponent from blitzing. Ravens love to throw to Ray Rice. They also have a much better offensive line.

Receiver is the least of our worries. So to answer your question, yes... I disagree that we want or need a big name receiver by the trading deadline.

The Ravens need to STOP kicking to whoever the other team has returning kicks. This was such a DUMB mistake that has been repeated over and over. WHAT is so wrong with just putting the other team on the 20 and going to work? It's an unnecessary risk with the way we are covering kicks. The kicks are often shallow, and the return more often than not goes past the 20. Just kick it through the end zone, PLEASE!

Our only chance to beat the Broncos considering they have shut everyone out in the 2nd half minus a San Diego Field goal. According to the announcers they have never allowed anyone to score in the 4th qtr? This is against QB's like Palmer, Tom Brady, Romo, and Rivers as well. They seem like they can adapt to any offense and shut them down just like the 2000 Ravens only they only play this well in the 2nd half after they adjust. We need to blow them out in the first half and try to bust up Orton and Marshall and get them out of the game. Cam needs to be prepared to readjust our Offense in the 2nd half completely. None of this play it safe crap in the 1st and 2nd Qtr we need to go in all out with guns blazing to demoralize this team!

8 of the new starters were cut by other teams. Nolin has done a fab job to say the least so far.

I was confused to see most of the kickoffs short on sunday, yet late in the game he was drilling them into the end zone. I'm really not a huge fan of our Special Teams Coordinator. Likewise, why is Carr still returning punts when webb is by far a better returner? It just seems like the Ravens Offense and Special Teams aren't getting it together until late in games the past few weeks. They need to come out attacking, and give the defense a lead to protect for once.

I think the Defense giving up 30 points has A LOT to do with the fact that Special Teams doesn't give the Offense good field position, and the Offense not being able to sustain drives early.
