Webb looked explosive and resolute when he was returning the kicks..

I want to see what he can do as a corner

I would also like to see him on PR not just KR when i saw that it was Carr doing PR i was like here we go again not much spark there. Carr is a bust need to trade or put on practice squad to make room for anyone else.

Webb easily locked down the KR job today. Now, Harbs needs to realize Carr doesn't know what to do when returning punts either and stop playing him at nickel. I think I saw Webb in one D a few times but he needs to be in there more. He's fearless in whatever he's doing(unlike Carr) and I know he can't draw as many penalties as Walker does.

yes, I saw a LOT more from Webb today than Ive seen from Carr the whole season. Webb was giving it is all, he almost singlehandedly brought AP down on one play. Carr has looked lackadaisical or confused on most plays.

I agree about Webb. There are talented players and there are less-talented players who play with heart. Webb is both. As for Carr, he and the rest of the secondary looked confused.

At least until he blows his first assignment for a TD. Then this will change to a cut him thread overnight. :34853_shakehead:

Hahahaha that seems to be a theme on this board. It drives me crazy. People are like, "cut carr, cut walker" Who we gonna play at CB if we get rid of everybody??? People may be unhappy with the secondary, but it is what it is. You can't cut all of them and expect to find quality replacements.

Looks like the angry mob with pitchforks and torches are in full effect.

Wait until next Sunday when we slay a goat and impale Mattison while we feast on the heart of Carr and Walker! Should be an event for the ages.

Then we'll really suck.

Yeah but you don't get too upset when a Rookie makes a "Rookie" mistake here and there. I think there's a lot of upside to Webb. If you remember back when he was drafted, he publicly said how honored he was to be on the same field with Reed and Lewis. He plays with passion because that's what he learned watching his role models. He'll get more opportunities and I think he'll take full advantage.

Well it's official that Webb will continue to return the kicks and will be getting more reps on D which absolutely cannot hurt us any more then what is being done to Carr and Walker lately. Does anyone know if Harbaugh address the punt returning? I assume it is going to remain Carr with an occasional Reed for now, but I wouldn't mind seeing Webb back there and would actually like to see what Zibb could do back there!?!

I really think Webb should get some strong consideration for nickel and dime packages, at this point to get him more game exposure during the season... ( I mean if he gets beat deep, at least it might be more of a rookie error blowing coverage from inexperience versus guys just being sorry)... Sometimes cornerbacks need to go through growing pains...

He seems to be a good tackler, and runs full speed everytime he is on the field, at times others just seem to be lost... ( I'm sure he has the speed to keep up with most receivers, so let him get the game experience to see how he handles being matched up with huge WRs)....
I agree. Chris Carr just doesn't have it.

So glad it is official he is the kick returner, and Harbaugh said he will get more Defensive snaps.

Hey Harbaugh how about at least activating Kruger so he can help us get some pass rush...
Sorry about being off topic but seriously.

I think Webb played fair today, came up with some good tackles. Namely the screen on AP, its rare that a CB can tackle him alone like that.
it wasnt webbs tackle on AP it was Danell Ellerbe

They will get rid of Chris Carr way before they will get rid of Frank. Cuz Frank actually contribues on Special Teams.

LOL! I said that before. If he isn't drawing penalties when trying to cover receivers, he's drawing them on special teams.

In six games this year, he has five penalties. Two have come on special teams, three on defense.

Can someone please explain to me why Chris Carr was still allowed to return a kick later in the Vikings game even AFTER Webb had come in and had two nice returns?

I can't remember exactly which quarter, and don't have a full replay to look through, but it just baffles me. I mean, I thought after Carr's first kick... the coaches had FINALLY given up on him and realized they need someone else. Webb comes in and is on the field for a few kicks. I think two of them were returned, and one he let go? But then later on in the game... Carr is back there again for a kick return!?!?! WHY? I just don't get it. He can't even use the fair catch correctly.

Until when? until he makes a rookie mistake and we all say we should have started a vet?
i personally want webb in there and dont care if hes giving up a TD because Carr would give up the TD too and Walker would make a PI so the ball is lined up at the 1 and then we get a TD
so im all for giving webb a chance at learning to handle NFL WR

Carr did not return kicks against the Vikings. He returned punts though.

Carr also had a late kick return against the Bengals but I'm convinced it was because they weren't convinced Webb's ball security issues were fixed. I think that argument has been put to rest.
