Lardarius Webb

Why is a guy like Chris Carr playing the nickel or dime position when IMO Lardarius Webb is a much better corner. Why not at least try to use him. there is nobody in the league who is a worse corner than Carr, thats why i ask my self why we are not using Webb instead of Carr?

imo it seems as if our coaches has big egos. They wont play webb or even dress kruger, the biggest waste of a pick in history. Why not just draft a cb in the second round. The dolphins shawn smith was still on the board and he starts for them. 6'2 or 3, but we take a player we dont dress.

We really don't know if Webb is a good corner, he hasn't gotten much time there at all, especially against a big-time receiver.

But we do know that Carr and Walker are not. So, I agree...

And Webb is an excellent returner.

If Webb is anywhere near the good corner as he is returner.. then we may have a great corner on our team.

I think Webb played fair today, came up with some good tackles. Namely the screen on AP, its rare that a CB can tackle him alone like that.

please cut Carr and Walker. thanks

And fall back on what? Carr and Walker will be staying the year unless we execute a trade by tommorrow.

Get used to a lot of games where we are cursing Walker and Carr. We can phase out one of the guys, but one or the other will have to see some field time.

One thing I saw in todays game is that Webb played with alot of heart and seemed to bring a spark to the ST. Carr is a bust. As it stands right now, I think we need to use our draft picks more to add some much needed upside to an otherwise not too effective team, both O and D. Also, I continue to question why Mattison changed our D scheme. Our D isn't broke, so why fix it. I question Mattisons ability to be an effective coordinator. Why else has our D declined so much from last year?
We still have our core group of defensive players. I have to question our D coordinator and our coach. We have alot of talent on our D, that is not being used to its full potential. I blame that on our coaches

I dont give a damn what the coaches think. This decision comes down to one thing, when you look at Carr and look into his eyes I dont see how you can even think to yourself "this guys going to make a play". Everytime Webb touchs the ball, he goes balls out, and plays with an intensity Carr doesnt have. Personally if I have a guy who sucks straight up and doesnt play with any type of emotion or intensity, and I have a rookie who plays with intensity, goes to make tackles, swarms to the ball but is unproven at corner. Im gonna play the guy who wants to be there, the guy who wants to make the tackle or swat the ball in the 4th quarter with the game on the line. Regardless if he hasnt played the position. You can do alot more with a guy that has the fire, than a guy who doesnt.

Fact is the offense didn;t really get going till we had Webb run the ball back for some good gains and the offense stop starting at the 10

Webb needs to get in on punts. Carr fielded a punt inside the 10 and got tackled inside the 10. Absolutely terrible.

No wonder they brought in Reed...I think Carr is on his way out. Webb was great, and it was only a matter of time before he broke one.

Did you see Reed thinking about fielding the punt and then grabing it last second only to get covered in Vikings players? lol

Didn't they do that last game as well? Bringing in Reed.

God...what the hell do the coaches see in Carr? I remember watching his preseason interview, was not impressed with his answers or his enthusiasm at all.

I really think Webb should get some strong consideration for nickel and dime packages, at this point to get him more game exposure during the season... ( I mean if he gets beat deep, at least it might be more of a rookie error blowing coverage from inexperience versus guys just being sorry)... Sometimes cornerbacks need to go through growing pains...

He seems to be a good tackler, and runs full speed everytime he is on the field, at times others just seem to be lost... ( I'm sure he has the speed to keep up with most receivers, so let him get the game experience to see how he handles being matched up with huge WRs)....

I absolutely agree. In addition, they need to strongly consider getting rid of "Mr. Penalty" Frank Walker.

They will get rid of Chris Carr way before they will get rid of Frank. Cuz Frank actually contribues on Special Teams.

Webb easily locked down the KR job today. Now, Harbs needs to realize Carr doesn't know what to do when returning punts either and stop playing him at nickel. I think I saw Webb in one D a few times but he needs to be in there more. He's fearless in whatever he's doing(unlike Carr) and I know he can't draw as many penalties as Walker does.

LOL! Frank manages to draw penalties playing special teams too. He's useless to this team in my opinion.

I think we need corners that can cover man to man and can re-route receivers with an effective bump. In addition, we need pressure from the middle of our D line and a strong safety who can tackle in space. When I see slot receivers and Tight ends running free across the middle as has been the case all year, I know the problem is the coverage scheme, the personnel or both. In this case, the scheme appears to be inadequate and the some of the personnel seems better suited for this scheme and even more so for the traditional Ravens' defensive scheme.

Also, the Ravens need to disguise their blitz packages better; most of the time, my son and I can identify where the pressure will be coming from just watching on TV. I am sure the trained eye of the opponent's DC and an experienced QB can pick it up faster than we can.

Did anyone else notice that Webb ACTUALLY produced some yardage and got somewhere on returns? Carr would barely get anywhere. If we don't get penalties and if Webb doesn't fumble, we may have found a good punt returner.

yay Webb, he was AWESOME. It was amazing what the offense could do in the 2nd half once we got in comfortable field position.

A Ladarius Webb topic? new and refreshing!

At least until he blows his first assignment for a TD. Then this will change to a cut him thread overnight. :34853_shakehead:
