Running is over rated.

The first three games we threw everywhere then abandoned it when we lost a game the offense couldn't eat the clock out and the defense made mistakes at the wrong time.

This game we tried to set up the run, failed miserably and kept at it, got desperate and opened up the arm at the end of the brow. The game went differently from then on.

Running to set up the path is a myth.

I agree with the OP that throwing intermediate to long passes opens up the running and screen game for Rice.

Minnesota knew that the Ravens were running all the time, this is why we were down until the damn O allowed Flacco to use his strong arm and the Vikes D was forced to spread out, making running plays a great choice at that point.
