Yamon Figurs

51 posts in this topic

right!....Yamon has shown some REAL positve signs while he's been out on the field BUT he needs to learn/work on his Ball Handling skills and securing it to his body when he knows the hit is coming, so that the ball wont pop out and thus resulting in Less possible Turnovers. Once he manages to get the hang of it and hang onto the ball (like i said before) teh sky is the limit for this guy as well as many many others on ths team. Learn from your mistakes go back in practice, work on those types of things and Come back the next game and have yourself a Great game and enjoy yourself.

Ed is very capable of returning kicks, we all saw that in week 1 when he ran that punt back for a Touchdown. basucally, i feel comfortable with whoever we put back there, im confident that they will get the job done.

WR or back up PR.. By the way wat happened to bj sams?

Sams was injured vs. the Bengals at Bengals - same thing happend last year - Figurs will be returning kicks in that stadium next year just in case.

I would prefer to see Sams over figurs at least for the next year or two, Figurs may be faster but Sams has got moves and can take hits and has good hands. Figurs needs to toughen up to NFL level before I'm completely confident in the kid. One thing is for sure, I prefer him over little Ross.

CB is maybe the most difficul posission in football, so it would take long to get him good enough for covering a NFL WR, i don't see him playing defense.

he'll be a good WR in a few years.

He would be a good slot WR with the speed, And he is better then Bj Sams he could never take it to the house he always ran out of gas. Yamon Figures doesnt have that problem so i like him more, even though Bj Sams is crazy at breaking tackles. I think we should keep sams as 2nd PR and 2nd KR plus would it hurt to have a good back up? And the whole WR thing also we dont run enough 4 WR spread We always got a back in the field because of O line, And we love Todd Heap.

I kinda liked watching Musa Smith run back some returns. He seems to put other people on the ground.

Yeh hes like a Cory Ross but way better,Why do we even Keep Ross? put Musa back there imo

what about when bj sams comes back?? what do we do with Yamon figurs

Sams contract is up this year, so if Figurs can get over the rookie jitters, they probably wont resign Sams. But BJ is done for the season again.

we should definetaly keep both in case one of them gets injured

We should but its unlikely. Figurs is a guy that can kick return and possibly play WR, Sams as far as I know can only kick return. Having both of them is a waste of a roster spot. I would rather carry 3 QB's and 7 or 8 versatile defensive players then a guy that can only kick return. If no one else jumps at B.J., we may be able to keep him for our practice squad.

All i see in BJ is a great kick and punt returner, but the thing is that he is injury prone, becoming the Dan Cody type person. He needs to go so we can obtain more roster space. I think that Figurs is the ultimate punt-and kickoff-specialist for this team in the future.

We should trade him, maybe for a draft pick or something...heck, i wont mind a seventh round steal.:)

having both Sams and Figurs on the roster, Adds depth to that particular position and therefore resulting in players, coaches and Staff and the Overall Team not having to worry about the "depth" we have at one position or another...

We do have a draft coming up. There is a good chance that we will pick up a CB early that can be a solid back up KR/PR and play on the defense. If we were only using Figurs as a wr keeping B.J. would be fine but it is a waste of an active roster spot to have both of them.

Yeah, i think that having both Figurs and Sams is just a waste of roster spots. Yamon is pure speed but nothing else. Sams is some speed, but great vision, but he is injury prone. I would not keep the injury prone one, so I would go with Figurs. He can learn the game more...

Yamon is a ROOKIE player here....so i wouldnt jump to conclusions here saying "Figurs has Pure Speed....thats it" he's learning and trying to get better, only time will tell him that. You cant go judging a player based solely on his Rookie season. thats obsurd. yea we do have a Draft approaching....5 months away.....in which i think our first pick would be something on the defensive side of the football (Line Backer or CB or something) then go from there but i dont know, we'll just have to wait it out and see what does actually happen
