Yamon Figurs

Yamon Figurs Does not seem to have any consistancy as an NFL reciever, He lost his job in college to Jordy Nelson who will be a second day pick.

Could Figurs be coached to play corner back? He was a gunner at K.S. and is not afraid to make a tackle. I for one would like to see what Yamon can do on the defensive side of the ball.

He is certianly good at batting down balls! hehe

he has the speed, i hope its just rookier jitters, and he can get by that, if not....speed means nothing if you dont have the ball.

I think in the future we will see him at WR once he gets comfortable with the NFL and the taking the hits. He would be explosive combined with Bollers cannon.

I dont know. I thought the Ravens reached when they took him. I thought they should have drafted a defensive back in that spot. Maybe that's their plan. I sure hope they didnt use that high of a pick on a kick returner just because B.J. Sams contract was almost up.

I definately think it's the rookie jitters, he just needs some more coaching. he has tremendous speed and I think he's definately a lot better than Some of the other disapointing talents such as clarence moore and devard darling. this dude has the potential to be not only a great kick returner but a great receiver also, but with some time.

yes, i would like to see him on the defensive side of the football, believe me, the Guy (think we've all seen) how fast this guy is......i think he just needs to work on his Ball-control Skills and vision to see the field when the ball is in his hands, and he'll be set....i think the BIGGEST set back with Figurs (and im sure most of you can agree with me on this) has been is Mis-handling of the football....once he corrects that....he'll be an even bigger threat for the opposing teams. As For him on Defense.....i wouldnt be surprised to see him in on Certain Defensive Packages and whatever else, nothing that wouod be TOO overbearing on the guy....seeing how we want to use him more on the offensive side of the football.

I agree, but i think the height of 5-11 is good enough for a cornerback, being Yamons height. But I dont know, He needs to know the techniques and everyting. I mean look at Pittman, he was supposed to be one of the better cornerbacks but he's not good with his technique.

yeppers, but i still say, only put him in on certain or a "few" defensive Schemes here and there, nothing that would put him in the Line of Fire. We Drafted him as an offensive/special Teams type of player and i would expect him to kinda stay with that route, he just needs to work on his ball handling skills and to "hold on to it" when the time comes for him to do so

As fast as he is he said him self that no one could keep up with him im suprised we dont use him as a deep threat just once in a while

i think hes a soild kick/punt returner. in the steelers game he almosted ran it back all the way. I dont think he could be a corner because to be a corner you have to hvae years of practice

He definitely has potential. Heck, even if he doesn't pan out at WR, he could still make an electric return guy provided the coaching staff can fix his fumbling and muffing (which I'm sure they can).

Figurs will be a Good Player for us...dont start worrying about all that now, its just his rookie season and he has shown us is Blazing speed and even ran punt Back 60-70 yards for a Touchdown. so just give it time and eventually i believe that he will turn out to be a Great WR or Punt return man.

I really would love to see B.J Sams back, but with his injuries and his personal problems he has in real life, maybe its best if we let him go.

yea Sams was injured in (i think) the first game against the Bengals on opening day/night...so you'll see him next season. when in fact, Sams Does return to the field. I would expect Figurs and Sams to "Share the Load" and take turns returning kicks and punts and what not. we may also be able to use Figurs more next season when Sams is back, in our passing attack, he has the speed and athletic talent, it just needs to be fine tuned and/or adjusted to the NFL/Baltimore Raven level of play.
