Well, it IS a discussion now. I feel that they should have known if it was or was not a field goal, regardless of the circumstances, and not gone through all of that "discussion." That a field goal had to be video reviewed is ridiculous.

But they got the call right, correct? That is all that matters. Do you want to win because the refs make a bad call? You want to call the refs ridiculous, wanting to count a win becuase of an officiating mistake is ridiculous. We lost. End of story. Lets take the goods out of today, and start building for next year. Get Kyle some more snaps, figure out the O line, play like we played in the second half! We looked really great after half time. if we played like that for the first 2 quarters, we would have won by 14! Get over the call. It is a non issue.

I'm starting to become embarressed to be a Ravens fan not becuase we keep losing but because we have some absolutely stupid fans who think the refs are responsible for our loss!!!!! Seriously how completely ignorant and stupid can you guys be??? grow up and stop complaining about the refs like little kids... this is not what it means to be a Ravens fan... Go be an Eagles fan or something and go join the rest of the ignorant fan club..

i totally 100% agree. it was a good field goal. anyone could see that. billick shouldnt have let the team go to the locker room to lose focus.

I agree that the field goal was good, but you're missing my point.

The only officiating mistake I am talking about is that they apparently weren't prepared for a situation such as this, and, therefore, directly influenced the momentum of the game. I don't want to win on a bad call; I just want the refs to make a good call the first time.

But I'm ready to move on as well, there's nothing else to do.

TO MEE THAT CALL WAS NOT RIGHT.... THAT HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN in FOOTBALL.. SO THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO JUDGE IT.... TO ME IF IT GOES BACK AND DOESN'T LAND ON THE GROUND IT'S NO GOOD. IT BOUNCED BACK OUT AND LANDED ON THE GROUND IN FRONT OF THE UP RIGHTS NO GOOD!!. AND YEAH I WOULD RATHER TAKE A WIN IF THATS HOW THEY WILL CALL ANYTHING LIKE THAT IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN GOOD, BECAUSE OF HOW HORRID WE ARE THIS YEAR WE NEED AS MANY WINS AS POSSIBLE. TO ME THE BROWNS GOT THE CHEAP WIN.. HOPE THEY CHOKE ON IT

The announcers said this isn't even reviewable and he took it upon himself to review it.... In my opinion that ball reguardless of going threw or not if it doesn't touch grass on the other side its NO GOOD. It landed in front of the UPRIGHT and In my OPINION is NO GOOD. IT BOUNCED BACK OUT AND STAYED IN BOUNDS THAT SHOULD BE A NO GOOD FG.....

Fortunately for all of us, the rules are written in black and white and are established before the season, not based on an upset fan's opinion. In the Brown's opinion, it should count. So once again, the opinion doesn't matter, the rule does. Which states it is good. My opinion is whenever Ray Lewis plays for your team, you should get 14 extra points. But that is not in the rules, so we don't get them. Better Offense and stiffer kick return coverage in the 4th quarter would have won this game.

OMG can we not blame this loss on the refs!!! How ignorant can you be? It was the right call so stop bi@ing because we lost due to a correct call!

Dude, rules are rules.

If the rules say that it's not reviewable then it shouldnt be reviewed!

just like the rules say you cant pass ahead of the line of scrimmage, Being offside results in a five yard penalty etc. etc.

Remember that idiot call against todd heap V cincy?

That was a bad call and it decided the game! so was this.

but then they disregard the rules and review it anyway!

I think you need to join the Patriots bandwagon of fans.

because a true Raven's fan is not embarrased of his team.

A true fan does not cheer for a team just because they win....

A true Ravens fan supports his team all the way.

but if thats not you....new england is waiting for you.

he stated he's not embarresed by the Ravens team, but by the actual fans of the ravens and the way they are taking this loss. you might want to re read that more carefully.

I understand your point, however they probably weren't ready for martians to land at the 50 yard line either. I'm pretty sure this is the first time this has ever happened in a game, so it was unexpected by everyone. They got together, figured it out, and gave the correct call. I agree it would have been better to get it right initially, but the guys in pads are getting paid more money than probably anyone on this forum will ever see. They should know better than to let down their guard and let themselves get lulled into the game being over before the official word has come down.

Can't wait to be spoilers for the PATS!!!

GO RAVENS! Good game today. Looking forward to even more next week!

I'm embarrassed for our fans as well...anyone who thinks that STUPID CALL made ANY SENSE since it is UNREVIEWABLE definitely shames the true ravens fan. Way to give up on a win that was obviously ours.

Having just experienced the highs and lows of the ending IN PERSON, let me say this:

I am proud of this team. And you all should be, too.

Yes, it was a loss. But this game showed that Baltimore is a better team than Cleveland and any prognosticator had anticipated.

The Browns won. But they couldn't do it without leaving any doubt whatsoever into the outcome.

Regardless of your opinion on how Phil Dawson's FG as time expired should've been called, you have to admit that there was no clearcut, right-or-wrong call. The end of the game was highly questionable, and still VERY MUCH open to debate.

Fact is, the Ravens played their hearts out today. That's all we, as fans, can ask of them.

You can't say that this was a horrible game played by the Ravens. You can't say that Baltimore didn't go toe-to-toe with Cleveland, when roughly 78% of the nation EXPECTED the Browns to dominate the game, according to FanNation polls.

This was a hard-fought game, and I am honored to be a Ravens fan after all that I witnessed today.

To be in the press conference and see the tears swelling in the eyes of all those reporters was a moment I'll never forget. And to look Brian Billick, Kyle Boller, and Devard Darling straight in their eyes and see how crushed they were by the loss only reminded me of how human they really are.

No matter what you may have thought of this team before, don't turn your back on them now just because you're heartbroken over something that was out of your hands.

The Ravens did the best they could, and luck just didn't swing their way today. I certainly gained an even bigger appreciation of the team than I ever thought possible. I LOVE THIS TEAM.

And if you can't take pride in the effort put forth on that field today, after all the adversity and all the criticism and all the trials and tribulations they've gone through, then I'm sorry, but I would be ashamed to call you a true Ravens fan.

And that's the long-and-short of it from me for now.

More on my experience today to come, as soon as I get settled tonight.

By the same token, the refs at the goalpost shouldn't have "let their guard down" either.

We'll have to agree to disagree, but I think we understand each other's points pretty well now.

Go Ravens, offense looked a lot better in the 2nd half.

y'all are missing the point. The bad call had NOTHING to do with us losing the game. We had the game won. It was tied, we were infield goal range, and there were less than 30 seconds on the clock. Ask anyone who understands what a touchdown is and they'll tell you that you RUN THE (profanity removed) ball int hat situation...Yet Billick Continues to do all the basics wrong. I am so pissed. Having to sit next to my Mother-in-Law's Brown Fan Boyfriend and watch in agony as Billick lost the game for us. FIRE HIM NOW.

Our D held up well when they werent forced to defend starting field positions already within field goal range due to turnovers, and Boller didnt look half bad once he got settled. Our O-line is the main thing holding us back.

Oh yeah, is there an "escape clause" in McGahee's contract? If I were him Id ask to be traded unless Billick is fired. Its not fair that a star like that, putting it all out should losegames like these simply by bad clock management.

Ravens#1 i already answered your question, and what kind of question is that? 'Scared to answer my question?' Are you serious? How old are you exactly? You really shouldn't be on these boards at all, you're a waste of forum space and as unintelligent as Brian Billick's call to pass on 3rd and 1 with 38 seconds on the clock in field goal range.

The way I see it, the officials responsible for calling good or no good conversed and made the call no good. How can other officials come over, have a five minute discussion, review a non-reviewable play, then realize they can't review it and say "after discussion, yada, yada, yada." Can you imagine a home plate umpire calling a 3rd strike, game over and the second base umpire talks to the 1st base umpire then talks to the home plate umpire and they change the call to a ball. No you can't imaginge that because its against the rules just like reviewing a non-reviewable play. Brian Billick should do what he's ONLY good at, runnning his mouth and protest this game.

That is fine if that is your opinion, however the rules are the rules. If you want an illigitimate win because it gives the Ravens a W, then that is your opinion. However that type of attitude makes you no better than the fans you criticize and the Browns who are celebrating a "cheap win" in your opinion. It should not have come down to a field goal. Ask yourself what you would have been arguing had that been Stover's kick for the tie instead of the Browns? I bet you would be on the other side of the fence and not saying "I think that was no good, but I'm gald the refs called it in our favor, even though I think it was the wrong call." I'm pretty sure you would be making as strong an argument for the ruling. Just my opinion.

Go Ravens!!!

Beat the PATS!

He doesn't come on sunday and read from the bible while others play football, its for a different time and place. Just like you talking religion here is the wrong time and place. Talk football or leave. Its not a matter of who believes or who doesn't or whatever. It's a matter of wrong time, wrong place. End of story.

Well said. Thanks for the insight from the field and the box. Great job today.

We played a hell of a game and had something to cheer about for the first time in a couple weeks. Everyone played hard and we ended up on the short end of the score, but still a great game.

Yeah, I second the "great job" thing. It was really cool to have someone posting with that perspective.
