Who Would You Start At Qb?

14 posts in this topic

I've got Brees and McNabb. Brees at home vs. Giants, McNabb at Oakland. At first I thought no brainer, "gotta play McNabb against the Raiders". But what if the Eagles are ahead by 3 touchdowns at half time? McNabb probably won't play the 2nd half (much like Manning last week against the Raiders). And I'm thinking that New Orleans will struggle to run the ball, so I expect Brees to throw 40 to 50 times during the game (we get 1 point per completion). Thoughts? Who would you start?

Even though the Giants are great pass rushing. I'd go with Drew Brees at home.

Plus at times Oakland looks decent in pass defense.

I'd go with brees... He's almost always a gaurantee start.... even if he hasn't shown it in the last few games

I'd go with brees because that game is going to be competitive so you know he'll be slinging it all game. The eagles will dominate the raiders to the point that kolb will mop up the game for the eagles.

I'd have to go with McNabb on this one. Regardless of NO being at home they are going up against the best D in the league. Look at Brees's numbers vs the Jets. He had barely any points going into the 4th qtr and even then barely squeaked out a performance worthy of mentioning. McNabb has Maclin and Jackson to go to and both are ligatament deep threats which McNabb has shown he loves to go too. Oaklands D has been allowing BIG numbers each where as Brees vs NYG could go either way.
Safe bet on McNabb imho

Brees.

I've fallen victim to Oakland's pass defence before, they can have some very strong days in Oakland.

Saints vs Giants will be close, I'd expect some big numbers. New Orleans will still be gunning in the 4th quarter; like others have said, it's very feasible that Philadelphia is up big by halftime and McNabb sits. Dont be surprised if Philadelphia has a 20 point league but runs 2 of those scores in.

Either way, you know Drew Brees will be good. Huge game and at home. Always play that over a QB returning from injury against a potentially decent pass defence.

hope you stuck with brees

if you have any questions about what players to use, this is updated weekly, and pretty solid.. not always 100% correct, but could give you what you want to know consistantly (obviously if you have someone who's ranked at 3 and 4.. you might have a question but if someone is ranked at like 5 compared to like 20 .. you get my point

Well Oakland looked more than decent in pass defense yesterday. Brees Dominated.

D. Brees - 369 PaYd, 4 PaTD (1,36,12,12), 6 RuYd - 38 FFP
D. McNabb - 269 PaYd, 8 RuYd - 10 FFP

Yup, I stuck with Brees. Kind of funny how we all thought Philly would be up big by half time (OOPS!).
Thanks for the link, something like that could come in handy.

no problem, and fabiano generally knows what he's talking about... however, fantasy football is about predictions and trends... so the list will be wrong at times... guess what I'm trying to say is its good for a lot of advice, but don't let it be the be all, end all
