Winning Play!

28 posts in this topic

Here is the play the winning touchdown, let's all view it again and see where it breaks down. Looks like a play that should have been covered. :link: Chris Carr

It's interesting that he mentions it's a 3 man rush. ummmm, Nakamura was rushing, so that was 4 men. Anyway, that leaves 7 in coverage, and he was still wide open. Ay carumba! And yes, Carr was on the turf when Caldwell scored. Might as well put Webb in as the nickel back, he couldn't possibly play any worse than Carr has!

My what the mighty defense has come to. We go from guys like Starks, C-mac, Woodson, Herring, and Rolle, to guys like washington, foxworth, Walker, and CHRIS CARR! What happened?? I clearly must have missed something. We have set a high bar over the last decade. Guys like Carr dont belong on this defense PERIOD!!!!!

I've been saying Caldwell grabbed onto Carr's facemask since Tuesday and very few people seemed to believe me. You can clearly see Carr's head getting pulled in one direction whiles Caldwell continues to run up-field.

Still, Bulldog on 1057 The Fan was saying how if he were Carr, he would've tackeled Caldwell grabbed his facemask. Regardless, it doesn't change that Carr has been THE weak link on defense and needs to benched pronto.

I'm over the Bengals game though. The Vikings are up next and I'm eager to see how the Ravens bounce back from too different but equally disappointing losses.

Like the video showed, it was man-to-man, 4 CBs vs. 4 WRs, Ray in the short zone, 4 rushers and 2 safeties deep. The corners only had to stay close for the first 10 yards. Looking at the video, 2:35-2:42, Carr & Caldwell did battle, some tugging occured. However, Carr was still right there, at 2:39, but he overruns Caldwell at 2:40 - long after the contact occurred - and it allowed Caldwell to catch the ball. Carr compensated for the earlier contact and got back in the play, but his lack of body control cost the game...

Carr failed.

Also, Cincy had 6 blockers in, vs. 4 rushers, and Palmer got no pressure...

Carr was held but he still had a chance to get back in the play. he got beat plain and simple. I can't wait until tolle comes back so we can put a better quality player at nickel cb.

I want Rolle to come back too but considering he showed up at the facility in a neck brace Monday, it doesn't seem he'll be back until late in the season if he even plays again at all.

In a play like that you can not let the WR get on top of you like that. Ray was in the middle to cover the under, all Caarr had to do is keep his man in front of him. Our CB's are playing OK but the need to stop falling on the ground. :229031_rofl: <----- You can not make plays like this!

The front office apparently has gone from guys who actually knew how to play their position, how to tackle, and how to cover but were lesser "athletes" to guys that can run fast and are agile. Even though they arent as good at actually playing the position lol.

Anyone ready to see Webb replace Carr?
Everyone is ready to see it. At this point, I'd rather have Walker who seemingly draws penalties at will than Carr who is softer than paper mache. I don't want to Carr on the field at all anymore.

I went to training camp this year and got to see Chris Carr up close. I'm 6 ft. tall, and he was one of the smallest players I can remember seeing. I can't picture him being physical at all, and I think he has shown this. I think Webb could end up being a super sleeper. His potential seems sky-high. Anyone see him knock that ball out of Wes Welker's hands in the Pats game?

In that play I think Nakamura has the HB, and since he stayed in to block Nakamura came in to blitz, then decided against it in case the HB released.

Yeah, I got wind of that not long ago. He's eligible to come back next week I think. I don't understand why the ravens wouldn't put him on IR if he was going to be out half the season or more.

Anyone notice Landry's lack of awarness on that play? Cover 2 on his side he has 2 recievers to look at and he did not react at all to chris carr getting beat. I played safety and i have common sense. 2 Recievers on 2 of my corners, one is doing fine up the sideline with sideline to help him and one getting man handled in the middle i'm going to jump on that.

But yeah i'm done with chris carr also!

I'm also glad the media and bandwagoners are gone

In the video you could see Chris Henry going outside so Landry went to the sideline to cover over the top. By the time the WR caught it Landry was not even close enough to make the tackle.

That was not on Landry, if you are laying on the ground and your man is running free there is nothing else to say!
