Deal Or No Deal?

32 posts in this topic

Tough to say. Gore is out for awhile, and Calvin Johnson's injury scare is still an issue. If we're talking short-term, it looks like a good deal. Then again, depends on your starters at QB and WR, too. Flacco will continue to throw the ball (and hopefully throw it well) and he's been gold for me in all the leagues I have him. Johnny Knox is a target in Chicago that could be this year's Eddie Royal in terms of fantasy rookie sleepers, but no telling whether Jay Cutler will remain consistent.

Personally, I'd take it, but that's just me.

1) it said gore has been in practice, and he could be back in after the bye week (which is this upcoming week for them) and I've heard reports of Johnsons injury being small... and I've been on the receiving end of your peyton manning/joe flacco combo in our league.. it hurts lol

my QB's are kurt warner and matt ryan... I missed the draft and trying to fix this team... pretty much utterly screwed me... however RB i have forte and gore..... and WR I have Dwayne Bowe, Hines Ward (eww), Donnie Avery (likely to get dropped), Calvin Johnson, and Crabtree (dropping for Maclin)

they are offering their Joe Flacco and Johnny Knox for my Calvin Johnson and Frank Gore... deal or no deal?
Since your QB's are Matt Ryan and Warner. There is no need to take on Joe Flacco.

Frank Gore is a beast and he will be back next game. Calvin Johnson although slow this year, is still the #1 option in their O game.
Johnny Knox needs the homerun hit most games to stay afloat.

KEEP Gore and Johnson!

Find somebody that needs help at QB and try to snatch and up-and-comer. Orton should do fine as a backup.

But there is definitely no need to add Flacco into the mix, especially since you can't drop Warner.

my qbs r shaub eli and matt ryan i was thinking bout trading ryan for flacco what do u guys think?
Ryan and Flacco are pretty similar. But Flacco is leading Ryan in Passing Yards and Tds. So it can't hurt to get Flacco. But I doubt the person your trading to will accept the trade, unless he's a huge Ryan fan.

make the offer, odds are it will probably be refused... I would definately throw Eli Manning out for trade bait, along with schaub

but yeah, the Ryan for Flacco Deal is good.. flacco is more consistant.. but Ryan has the better offensive personnel.. therefore allowing him to put up more "big" games... worst that can happen is the guy denies you

I'd throw Manning out as trade bait because so far (minus last week) he's been doing very well... and he almost always starts going into self destruct mode 2nd half of the season.. might as well get the value for him while it is high (and i don't care what anyone says... don't take matt forte)

Schaub is more or less injury prone... I would most definately use him as trade bait especially if you get flacco... again he is putting up pretty nice #'s rather consistantly.. just the injury history is a little scary... and you should maybe look to have 2 QB's on your team tops... unless it is a 2 QB league

is the 2nd QB slot a flex? if so I'd try and trade Eli for something else (would much rather get something that will work out especially in 2nd half of season) and aim to keep Schaub and Flacco (if trade works out) or Ryan (if it doesn't)

and if you ever really need a QB.. you could always pick up a Jason Campbell or Chad Henne... maybe not the best to start... but definately servicable

I put all my eggs in one basket with Schaub this year. I'm hoping he holds up. So far he's doing pretty great. I usually pick up my QBs in later rounds so that I can load up on RBs. Everybody was afraid of Schaub because of the injury history. IF he stays healthy, he's a definite steal.

I'm starting to dig Henne. He's a smart QB w/ a strong arm. We'll see what he can do against the Saints.

no doubt about it... he's actually my #2 rated QB behind brees... brady hasn't been consistant... at all this year

not to mention teams can't afford to not load the box against miami... making it easier to throw

I grabbed both Flacco and Knox off waivers - seems like he is trying to offer you 2 waiver wire players for 2 of what look to be your earlier round draft choices. I'd say no to this one and see who he drops in the upcomming weeks.

Flacco is owned in most leagues, and is putting up pretty good fantasy points every week... last week (week 6) he put up 27 fantasy points for me.... peyton manning did the same against the rams

the fact he was still on your waiver wire is mind boggling

I picked him up in between week 1-2. Flacco was on the wire for probably 95% of leagues until folks caught on that boys got game. Knox has been a hot flavor of the week - people keep adding and dropping him. I have Flacco and Warner and have benched warner 4 of 6 weeks in favor of Flacco so far. 12 team league.

I like Mike-Sims Walker. But he flew under the radar for a while. Now he's seeing some double teams, and we'll see what becomes of that.

Without delving into your team needs. I'd go with Sims-Walker straight up. He's a #1 passing offense on a team, that falls behind a lot. I love Ricky Williams, but Ronnie Brown still runs that show.

Now if only Sims-Walker could've gave me more than 3 points in Tennessee with that favorable matchup.

Who's your starting TE? I would say no. A starting RB is much more valuable than a stud TE.

I'd think about doing that deal if I were you... you're stacked at RB and could use an upgrade at TE and Davis has been on fire and is scoring a lot of TDs.

Yeah, yeah I missed that you had Todd Heap snuck in there. I swear I looked your post over twice and didn't see him.

My eyes have been deceiving me a lot lately.

as long as they don't deceive you on the road.. and by that I mean that you don't travel down the wrong side of it.... saw it happen 3 times with in 1 week..... 1 lady turned into the left turning lane of oncoming traffic, another guy was driving down US 1 north bound...... in the south lane... and the third guy I passed, and he gave me the bird like I was on the wrong side of traffic..... gotta love florida drivers
