Dan The Man Ravens #1 Fan

Moment Of Weakness

13 posts in this topic

I can only speak for myself on this point, but I am sure I am not alone. After a dissapointing loss this past Sunday, I found myself full of doubt. I said some things that were out of character. I even posted these thoughts and feelings. Two days later I know these were rash, from the hip and uncalled for. For that I would like to appologize to my fellow fans.

This years team is very young in a lot of aspects. I know I cant expect 38 to 0 every week. They are in a learning on the fly situation and dont deserve all the negativity that comes from fans (me included). What they do deserve is for their fans to stand proud, and continue to back them win or lose. They are only a couple of plays, reads, tackles, and or penalties from sitting on top of the division.

Im not going to sit here and say that I dont expect our Ravens to play every snap with the intensity that I know they can. I know mistakes will be made but that is part of the game. I still believe that this is a playoff team. I know that this team will do everything possible to get to that goal. The proof lies in the pudding. Still bringing in new prospects, positive thinking, and determination. What more could I ask.

So again, to my brothers and sisters in Raven Country, my appologies to all. :th_snapoutofit:

Well said. At least you were able to go back and reflect on some statements you might have made out of anger or disappointment. There are some fans who are convinced that because the Ravens were outplayed and out-coached for the first time this year, they are no longer a play-off team and will struggle to finish 8-8.

I'm usually pissed off and think we should give up for about 2 hours after the game. You can find me ranting and raving. Cursing players and coaches. But then comes the night and I'm a bit more level headed.

Next day I'm back on board, trying to be as optimistic about the next game as much as possible.

Very well said. I think that is a common sentiment among most of the fans on here. I know the past 2 Sundays after the hard losses, I was salty and I could have gone on and on about how the officiating sucked, how bad the corners are, blah, blah, blah, but the true fans can get past that and look foward to next week. The Ravens are still a great team.

Ya, I haven't felt this way about a game since last years 2 regular season losses against Pittsburgh. Felt as though my heart was ripped outta my chest and then had to watch Ocho step all over it while smiling a la Tennessee Terrible towel stomp. I was definitely not a pleasant person to be around on Sunday.
Takes a big man to admit when he was wrong, good on ya.

That is very nice of you to post this, I have a new policy I instituted after the Playoff loss to the Colts--I am aloud to pout and fuss until 12 noon on Tuesday, since its the day the players are off and they coaches are deep into game planning. :ICONATOR_01040da29c18a4eed76047 It helps my sanity.

Great post, it's only natural for a fan to get mad when the team loses. I've said somethings i shouldn't of. After all the drama and fighting, we are all Ravens fans. We will always be behind this team and support them win or lose. They play like a Raven, we cheer and support like a Raven.

My girlfriend hates when the Ravens lose, not because she's a fan, but because I mope around the rest of the day. I'll usually avoid reading anything football related until Tuesday or Wednesday.

I have to admit I did the thing the past 3 sundays in a row. I was at the bengals game and left the stadium in a very bad mood. Its most frusterating because it feels as though we have a very good team, just not getting it done. bottom line get pressure on the QB and this is a very different looking football team. Im still cheering 0-16 or 16-0 Loud and Proud. GO RAVENS!

My girlfriend doesn't want to go to the Green Bay game with me. She's not a big football fan and doesn't want to be out in the cold for that long. But she especially doesn't want to be stuck in a car with me for 3 1/2 hours if the Ravens lose.
