The Cornerbacks Are Not The Problem.

I guess that Foxworth allowing Moss' first touchdown of the season didn't mean anything? I wouldn't bring it up unless Moss wasn't just standing there in the endzone to just catch a light lob with Foxworth about 5 yards behind him. Why would he play deep coverage in what was practically a goaline situation?

Also I can barely tell that Washington is even there.

Why is a guy like Chris Carr playing the nickel or dime position when IMO Lardarius Webb is a much better corner. Why not at least try to use him. there is nobody in the league who is a worse corner than Carr, thats why i ask my self why we are not using Webb instead of Carr?

"chickens, sans heads..." lol

I agree, I think our pass rush has been acceptable. Good enough to get the job done. Like I said elsewhere, the difference is what happens after the ball leaves the QB's hand in those situations. We no longer have CMac or Rolle who can handle one-on-one assignments against the best consistently enough. So obviously we're going to give up more plays when we rush.
If one of our LB not named Lewis learns how to drop back, or if our nickels and dimes decide to start earning their checks, problem solved, for the most part. Our third and fourth CB's are getting eaten alive, and on top of that Fox gives up at least one big play every week, so the starting CB's need a little help.

Which is why I dont get why so many people are dogging Mattison. He doesnt have the firepower to work with that Ryan did, but he's expected to still keep our defense in the top 3 class.

I dont agree with certain Matty decisions, but at the end of the day, it's the players who are accountable to execute their assignments.

I think we have players who are able to get to the passer but when we rush 3 men and the opposing team has 6 men blocking there is no way we will pressure the quarterback. If Mattison can't grasp that, we will be looking for a new coordinator next year. Maybe we should have looked for someone with more experience instead of hiring from within. 3-3 at the break, we have time to get on a roll!!!

I have to agree with you. There are a lot of changes I've seen that I don't like. We have so much talent and we need to use it better than we have been.

I saw Foxworth make a great play against a FB that rarely gets the ball. But other than that, I saw a lot of missed tackles against SKILLED players. Not a good thing.

This might have been discussed already but the reason why our CB's look bad its simply because our pass rush is terrible. We need to trade for a pass rushing DE or draft one in the first round next year. If anything put Antwan Barnes a DE on passing downs and see what he can do.

Watch the game! The ravens had three sacks it was the pourous coverage that did them in.

Can you read? How about you answer your own question. Whats the difference between Cmac and Fabe? Rolle and Fox? Scott and Gooden? Does getting Landry and Gregg back affect us?

I call bs on your bs.

3 sacks does not give an accurate picture of the pass rush. There has been little effective pass rush this year. Favre had little come his way.
