Well The Weekend Didn't Totally Suck

14 posts in this topic

I guess there is something bittersweet in this aweful weekend,
The Jets lose on the last drive!

So let the debates begin...looks like Rex's D just did what our D did too

What does that mean? I dont know but I tell you what, I would rather lose to the bengals than the dolphins...

I don't like revel in someone else's pain but watching Bart miss a few tackles, Leonhard get hurdled, Douglas do nothing and Revis get burnt was sweet.

The Jets still have a good D in my opinion and Rex is still a good coach but people can't ignore that Miami's offense body-rocked the Jets for four quarters. They pounded the rock and Henne aired it out when he had to.

Hopefully people will stop talking about Rex now.

I said the same thing in a few threads, Rex showed he still loses games by allowing a last minute drive, while we did too we are with a new coordinator, he still has a lot of time to turn things around everyone needs to slow down and wait and see. There is still a lot of football left and no reason to give up hope. Even a week ago everyone was all on our offense, we had a bad game and everyone's ready to fight, Brady hasn't been great all 5 weeks or Brees just wait!

and it gets better!

Postgame they asked Rex how the Ravens D shut them down last year and his D didnt...priceless.

And Steve Young gave us some props too, saying that when he watches us play he is glad he isnt in the league anymore.

Whatever, maybe im hanging on to strings, but this does make me feel better for some reason

What happened tonight doesn't make the Ravens a better team but it proves that Rex's schemes aren't unbreakable and should shut up the Mattison-naysayers. People forget about the 3 game-winning drives the Ravens gave up last season. People also forget about the prevent-style defense Rex played in at least 2 of those games.

Well it looks like the AFC playoff picture is getting more clearer every week. The AFC North and East looks like it may come down to the final week of the season to see who wins the division, and who gets in as a wildcard. Everything else.... well they are on their way to the playoffs... All aboard the AFC Playoffs ship: Denver and Indy :spacecraft:

Everthing else is a toss up. With both the Jets and Pats losing, it was huge as Rex had a chance to extend the lead in the division. Miami winning, even though it don't matter because it will come down to Jets and Pats to who wins the East, could sneak in as a wild card. The AFC is a toss up and thank goodness for Parity in the NFL!

ugh, look likes the Ravens and Jets are on similar paths. Weve each gone 3-0 and proceeded to lose the next two in a row, albeit neither of ours were as sloppy as the saints-jets game.

I really wanted to see Rex go and succeed in NY. I'm the type of person that wants to see coaches in our system move on to bigger and better things and succeed in doing so.

But a part of me wants to see Rex fail just to shut up all the criers on here about us missing Rex as our D Cord.

If we sent mad blitzes this year we'd probably have a worse record than 3-2. Foxworth and Fabes can't hold their ground on an island.

Will this make you feel even better?

Consider this: Rex Ryan's defense has steadly given up an increasing number of points:

7 in the opener against the otherwise very good Houston offense (Jets won, 24-7)
9 in Week 2 against the Patriots, a very big win and the game that seemed to feed the hype about Rex Ryan’s Defense (Jets won, 16-9)
17 in Week 3 to the winless Titans (Jets won, 24-17)
24 in Week 4 to the unbeaten Saints (Jets lost, 24-10), though it must be noted that the high-powered Saint offense was held to just 10 points, while two defensive scores for New Orleans paced the victory.
31 in Week 5 to the sub-.500 Dolphins (Jets lost, 31-27)

Nice catch.

And the trend should continue with......Buffalo?.....ok maybe not.

Jets upcoming schedule is a cake walk. I'm jealous.

I hated how they were getting so much attention and in my opinion they were not good enough to deserve all that, glad they fell down to earth media-wise. Dolphins uniform looked pretty fresh also. My prediction that Henne will be successful is coming out correct as well.

Lol, well you never know. Who expected Miami to be a challenge? (Besides me) Any given Sunday. :P

I hadn't even looked at their schedule until now. You're right; they seriously lucked out.

Then again... so did the Redskins, and we've seen how that's worked out.
