As much as today hurts, I think we should all just relax. Yes it is a hard lost but what are we going to do? Complain and say fire him and fire that guy? Guess what we don't control the team so lets all just relax and wait for next Sunday. Anything can happen within the week, we could make a big trade.... we could pick up a free agent.... we could make new plays who knows lets just keep standing behind our Baltimore Ravens. Also remember we are still above the Steelers. :argdancingravensblueonbvx4:

I'm going to stay annoyed for a bit longer :34853_blobfire: because I was at the game and my dad grumped the entire game . I also know for some reason the Ravens play very poorly in October, always have.

Everything..
When you're at the game you can see all aspects of the game...officials, fans, how plays develop..intensity....stupidity (Ray's late hit)

It's much different

I was there section 119, row 10...and I can tell you...The Ravens are flat out getting beaten because they are not executing..not doing the small things..and not establishing the line of scrimmage.

I played D-I college football as a FB...and our offensive coordinator used to always tell us that "execution beats emotion every time"

Maybe Ray-Ray and the boys should line'um up and just play ball and stop making excuses and pointing fingers.

Mattison is no Rex Ryan...Ryan could use gimmicks and schemes to mask the Ravens weaknesses.

<Don't call out other posters or say who is "entitled" to have an opinion>

TV and media gives you a skewed perspective on things.both announcers and cameras.

Cincy just flat out punched the Ravens in the mouth today and kept throwing punches all game long.

Wait until next week with the Vikings D-Line...whoa, that'll leave a mark on Flacco's backo

Let's look at this weeks game.
Everyone was calling for Webb to do KR of course i think there was only 2 he did but 1st one at least he was smart enought to take a knee in the end zone ( something Carr didn't do) 2nd touch KR i think he returned it to like the 40 something great to see nice field positon the spark we needed so this was improved.Ray Rice is still a beast pushing his way for extra yards and that run for a TD was just great.I know this is only two things but that's two more than last week and hopefully this week practice will be hell for them and get back to Raven football.Oh yes!! I forgot about Mike ohre or how ever you spell it he did a job holding his own.

I think most of the frustration (mine most definitely included :gaah: ) is from all the hype. Now the reality has set in and it's not pretty. They were supposed to be an elite team, and are not playing like one. At home...this is no good. One positive is that maybe these devastating losses will spark a fire under some rears to get the player's heads in the game.

I really was impressed with the red zone D. I will concede that. The rest, well....the week of coverage will spell that out for us, now won't it?

As far as I'm concerned, it's onto the Vikings now.

Let the team dwell on this for as long as they need to. Though, we all know by now, the loss will be forgotten by tomorrow and everything will be digested and processed as they prepare for Minnesota. At this juncture, the Ravens can do no better than 4-2 and no worse than 3-3 into the bye week. Not a bad situation to be in, compared to more than half the league. Our boys played average ball yesterday, and now they're sitting with an average record. The world isn't coming to an end, the season's not over, and the team isn't doomed to a losing record.

The time to panic, as a fan, is when 4 or 5 losses are imminent because the margin of error is significantly decreased. Taking 2 or 3 losses isn't so bad, just makes the task at hand a little more difficult each time.

I'm sorry that a human football team can't be human. -_-

A lot of fans had been saying since last year that the team wouldn't be elite until Flacco's third year, and this seems to be holding true. Doesn't mean the team can't be good in the meantime, of course. Keep in mind that there are only a handful of so-called "elite" teams, and those teams have a changing-of-the-guard every couple of weeks.

With that said, there was also a contingent of fans who bought into the hype and believed this team was already elite. I'm sorry, but Rome wasn't built in a day; you can't rush progress.

And you can still win a Super Bowl without being elite -- just ask the 2005 Steelers, who were far from an elite squad. Just ask the 2007 Giants, who were the supreme underdog all season long to even make the playoffs. Just ask the 2001 Patriots, heck, even the 2000 Ravens despite their elite defense. Elite is a term reserved only for teams who are near-perfect from top-to-bottom, at almost every position. Hard to argue that the 2009 Ravens are near-perfect in all phases -- but they're getting there.

Meanwhile, being a very good team this year is good enough for me.

I agree with this. I never really bought into the hype myself but I definitely expected the team to take care of Cincy.

To be honest, other than Ray Rice and Oher's performances and Webb's big return, there really weren't many positives to takes way from yesterday's performance. However, most of negatives are all correctable in my opinion.

The only real problem I see is receivers not getting open. The Ravens are going to face several really good CB tandems this year. If Leon Hall and Johnathan Joseph were able to shut down Mason and Clayton, what will a CB tandem like Al Harris and Charles Woodson do?

We're 3-2.... Favre is due for a 3 INT game... last time we played him, we destroyed the Packers team he was leading... we get a BYE week this season, barring any unforeseen cataclysmic event... We are still ahead of the Squealers in the division... it's going to be ok, guys!

If Ocho actually caught the damn ball instead of alligator'ing, the Ray Lewis hit would've been on every sports shows for the next 5 years. Ray saw a great opportunity to jar the ball loose from Ocho and he went for it. Any good receiver catches that ball except that slimebag Ocho. T.O is an angel compared to that fool. All you people calling Ray Lewis stupid are DEAD WRONG, he is the whole team for crying out loud! Count me as fan #1 of Ray Lewis and Mr. Lewis, if you're reading this, I salute you Sir! Thank you for showing some emotion, now time for the rest of the team to wake up and play great, this includes the coaches!

Have to disagree with multiple things you've said in this post.

Ray Lewis is by no means "The whole team".

T.O. is an angel compared to OchoCinco? Hahahah.

I also think Ray got caught in the moment, and CHOSE not to back off from the hit. We all know he and Chad are buddies, and he wanted to give him a reality check. It's too bad it cost us 15 yards.

Anyone that tells you that because you were not at the game you must the big picture is wrong. The field is to big for you to see everything while attending the game or watching it on TV. It does not matter where you sit in the stadium either. On TV you can see all of the replays and you get all of the player updates. I love to go to the games to feel the excitement but when I get home I watch the game over to see what I missed.

Our OL ain't too shabby. Only allowing 7 sacks on the year. Plus this is only the tip of the iceberg for this young OL. Gaither should be back next week. I'm looking for a nice showing against Jared Allen - despite what you hopeless fans might think.
