Go On, Let It Out...

Sorry fellas, you can bash me if you want after this but i gotta talk out my anger.

Ravens Negatives!
- CHRIS CARR= A Raven's team isn't complete with out a player we don't like and dont understand why they play! Corey Ivy, Yamon Figurs, Kyle Boller, Musa Smith, and now Chris Carr. Anyone see the the "game winning touchdown" Cadwell took the JAM to Carr drove him back 10 yards pushed him aside as he fell and caught it. He's routinely picked on in critcal pass situations and his punt returning? well i'll get into that another day, lets just say Zibby should definetly PR and Webb KR.

- Missing Mason - Relatively blanked for 2 weeks and 2 losses, he's our man. I understand the D is probably taking him out of the game. Clayton stepped up nicely though.

-That passing attack - Excellent job by heap and rice, but flacco coulda found Washington in the deep middle a lot. Roy Williams and Chris Crocker couldn't keep him contained when he ran in that deep middle zone.

and wheres mcgahee?
RAVENS POSITIVES!
-Clayton came back strong
-We're under the radar!
-2 losses force the Coordinators to make atleast some changes that kill us fans!
-Ed Reed and Ray Rice looked great!
-Our Defense looked amazing on that last drive because lets face it, 2 stupid penalties, and Ochocinco holding foxworth on the interception where the only reason they drove 80 yards. I DIDNT SEE A PREVENT D!!!

Officials - I hate them, can't stand them. Why are 50 year old+ men working part time still managing a game that is so highly advanced now? Did anyone see after the "clayton fumble" review and spot the ball 5 yards behind where he was down?
So many other calls but i've typed alot lol

Today the patriots and the broncos had a tough battle and late in the 4th quarter the broncos where on the patriots 40, ready to kick the field goal and kyle orton is sacked, on the play a patriots db blitzed flipped over his blocker and lunged into Orton's knees as he went down. NO CALL. Broncos punt instead of field goal. (But they still won!)

Sorry for making you guys read this you probably already know!

Rant away but don't bash the person. I did a ton of ranting at the stadium, I ranted so much it now hurts to talk. I am not sure if its the refs anymore, but the interpretation of the rule changes.

I love ranting.

I'm pissed off that we drafted a pass-rushing LB in the 2nd round when obviously we have needs in the secondary and WR.

I'm also getting pissed off at the doom and gloomers on here. We have a bad game against a good team and next thing you know. Our OL sucks, Our QB sucks, Our everything sucks, and we weill never win another game again in our lives suck! This is our team - support it. Let it out and then get over it. We are 3-2 , we aren't a bad organization like the Lions or Redskins. Support them.

I'm disappointed as much as the next guy. But we are a good team with good pieces. We need to execute.

Play calling. C'Mon Cam. Bread - Butter?!? Run the ball. Try it. It worked great last year. Let the Run open up the pass. Stop trying to Pass to open up the Pass.

I say give Webb some snaps in Foxworth's spot until Foxworth can stop falling down and making the Ravens D look stupid. Foxworth was lined up with CHRIS HENRY and still failed. Give Webb some snaps!!

Agree with most everything (I gave you a +1 :) ) - all I have to add is that, at the time, I thought that drafting a pass rusher (which the D has plenty of - McClain & Barnes, for ex.) was a luxury the team didn't need. But... because he was drafted, I can't believe he's not talented enough to actually be part of the "active 45". Isn't that how you gain experience, enabling you to produce?

I guess the coaching staff sees him enough in practice, to make the determination - but a 2nd rounder is usually considered a "starter" - and Kruger doesn't even dress.

I'm guessing its something they see in practice. It just seems like we have could use some young-ready-to-prove-themselves talent at CB or WR. Why not?

I'm sure Kruger will be productive in the future (fingers-crossed). I hope so. We need to draft a CB or WR in next year's first round.

So you could skim around it.

Kyle Boller can't throw the ball. Kyle Boller looks like a deer in headlights. Kyle Boller shouldn't be in the NFL. So technical Kyle Boller......(use your imagination - Don't hate me Mod). :th_327321_Spy_23x22:

No disrespect to Boller.....much love.

Well..... where to begin. My voice is almost gone after today's game. I will say, I loved the chant directed at the refs that was good, even my buddy and me started into that. For those who wasn't at the game or didn't hear it on TV, there was a huge chant of "REFEREES SUCK!" after one of the late penalties. I thought the ref was going to throw a flag on the refs when he heard that chant. "Personal Foul Refs Feelings hurt, 10 yard penalty." Time for the NFL to put skirts on these players and give them flags because how they could draw a penalty on a clean hit at the end of the game was crazy and uncalled for. (Note: Not the Ray Lewis hit that was legit)

Our secondary is horrible. Ed Reed is the best thing to happen to this secondary but he can't cover the whole field by himself, he needs help. Landry isn't doing anything(and I hope we do not re-sign him after this season and we draft Taylor Mays to make an awesome secondary between Reed and Mays) and Foxworth is looking like a FA bust. No wonder why Denver or Atlanta didn't keep him, he is showing it. Harbaugh, make peace with McCalister and re-sign him please.

Please play Kruger. If it means putting Dwan Edwards as an inactive so be it, he is our 2nd round pick. High round pick being inactive isn't good. Kruger will make a great replacement for Pryce at DE, put Kruger in on sub plays at DE to keep Pryce healthy and have Kruger get some plays under him.

Ok I think I'm done ranting...... I still have hope of a wild card spot heck I think we can still win this division. The way the AFC North is looking, they could put 3 teams in the playoffs. It looks the Colts will win the South again, Josh "Knew What he was doing along" McDaniels may lead the Broncos to winning the West, and only the East(which may be won by the Jets) and a 3 way battle in the North. So now in the overall picture... the Patriots, Steelers, Ravens and Chargers look to be battling for the 2 wild card spots. 4 teams for 2 wild card spots.

Not done, can't wait to see what the refs come up with next week. Roughing the Old Man, Forcing more Gray hairs on Favre, gosh next week is a must win game now with Pitt playing the Browns(who happened to win a game finally) and hopefully we can upset the Vikings and the Texans upset the Bengals so we can tie things back up.

Alrite, sorry Mods in advance Im trying to go in depth here, and wont be moronically he sucks without backup. Im going to break this down into 2 categories and sub categories for the coaching and defense as im not really too upset with the offense more the playcalling:

Secondary
Fabian/Foxworth I am lumping into one person "Fabworth" because after the last 5 games watching them play they are pretty much the same corner. Fabworth's problems are not athletic or physical but 100% all mental, and I dont mean the "he had a mental lapse" kind. They dont understand route progressions, they must not watch film at all because except for Fox's pick against a brutal team they havent sat on a route or jumped a route yet. They dont know their receivers nuances that they play against ever, and they dont know the type of receiver theyre playing against because they havent adapted or changed their style of play yet this season. A good corner knows what hes up against and adapts accordingly, Fabworth plays every receiver the same and relies on his speed to cover. He isnt tough, and seems to almost have zero killer instinct and the "frick this guy this play hes not catching the ball" attitude. We have possibly the softest corner duo in the league. Then you add Chris Carr onto that who is this years version of Cory Ivy and the situation gets worse. At least Ivy was VERY effective as a blitzer, Carr hasnt provided anything and when we had them on 3rd and long late in the 4th Carr takes an illegal contact penalty. Carr's coverage has been bad in the slot, he gets pressed when he tries to press, and burned across the middle when he plays off. If thats all we need put Webb in, at least he can press and has the speed and size to make up for it.

Landry while Ive been impressed with him at times, Ive been disgusted at others. Hes inconsistent as the definition of the word right now, and I wonder how much is attributed to his freak injury last year. Then at the same time, being in your zone and making a routine tackle cant have anything to do with the injury 13 months ago. He's been aweful in his 10 yard zone playing off of Ray, and makes no plays in the real secondary over the top as help for a corner. Hes been all over the place and his football IQ has been aweful at times, jumping 3rd progression routes while leaving the middle of the field wide open.

Reed is Reed, he takes chances and he makes calculated gambles, so either you love him or hate him, personally I love him. He was our offense for the entire game today save one Barry Sanders style run.

Linebackers
Ray is playing like its 2004 all over again, he has 45 tackles in 5 games, hes on pace for his highest tackle total since 04 before his injury in 05 slowed him the next 2 years. Hes relentless against the run and is the only linebacker who actually stays and holds his zone, and covers somebody when they come into his zone. He may not be the beast he used to be but hes still one of the best MLB in the game at 34...hes a freak. Gooden has been bad against both the run, and in pass coverage. He doesnt blow up pulling Gs or fullbacks, or blast through a hole to make a tackle...he sits and reads which is Rays job (and Ray can read before 99% of players make a decision anyway). In zone coverage if he runs a 4.5 why the heck cant he cover a friggen TE? Its been sad to watch but he has alot of work to do before Im going to give him Rays spot. Mcclain is stout against the run but his coverage has been even worse than Goodens, KC game prime example of why he hasnt played much since. JJ has been a pleasant surprise team sack leader and always a full 100 player, its nice to see him doing so well. Hes great against the run, holds the edge and his pass rushing has clicked.
Now our backup and sub package linebackers, Barnes, Mcclain why are they not in 3 point stances on 3rd and obvious pass? Suggs and Barnes/Mcclain on the outside with Pryce and Ngata on the inside and get an actual consistent pass rush. You ever watch old Broncos tapes of Pryce, dude is so versatile on the Dline and just crushes lineman with ease inside.

DLINE
Ill put this to rest right now, no hybrid crap we are playing straight 4-3.
Ngata, your 360 pounds and you have been playing like your a buck 50. You blast through the Oline once a game for a great play, then are content to sit there and hold your blocker up. In this 4-3 you should be Albert Haynesworth last year, you dont offer any pass rush, and you hardly even collapse the pocket. You wonder why you see our edge rushers blowing past the QB when he steps up? Its cuz there aint crap going on in the middle, zero push. Ngata wants to be heralded as the next best DT in the league, we goto a formation that BENEFITS him and he plays worse, he said he was gonna have 8 sacks this year and dictate the LOS, season is 1/3 done and I havent seen it yet. Gregg your simply a run stuffer and have done your job, today was an exception I didnt see on the field at all really and had to look at the stat sheet to see if you even played. You got washed out by an Oline you should have had no problems making plays against and simply layed down. Pryce has played reasonably well this year and hes a player who actually has benefited from our 4-3 switch, something Ngata should be doing as well.

Coaching

Harbaugh, I like the new energy and team philosophy you brought to us in 08. However im getting sick and tired of the he has to be an upstanding citizen and a man of integrity to play on the team crap. What a man does on his own time is his own thing, if he can leave it off the field and it doesnt affect his teammates or his play it should be a non issue. Would you have benched James Harrison after his domestic violence, or traded him away? Pitt wouldnt have won the SB without him. What would you have done with Lewis in 2000 is prob an even better question. Would you have stuck by him and kept him and thus looked like a hypocrite or traded the best MLB to ever walk on the field in his prime? Tough questions ya because it certainly affected the team but Im interested to know what he would have done. There are really good football players who are less than really good people or "model citizens", hate to bring this up but Brandon Marshall has been significant in Denvers last 2 wins...not hardly a model citizen but a very good football player you dont want. He leaves his problems at the door and plays football with his all and a performs. Second gripe with Harbaugh, stop hiring your damn friends this isnt Office Depot, if their the best candidates out there then w/e, but Im hard pressed to believe Mattison was the best candidate available, or that Jerry Rosburg has been a good hire either.

Thirdly your 08 draft was brilliant, Flacco, Rice, 2 good backup safeties, a starting linebacker. Your 09 draft might have been the worst draft in the last 10 years from the entire league, you got 1 starter, 1 other guy on the active roster and 4 players not. You had glaring holes in the secondary, and you picked a rush DE that you dont even play because hes not good on your ST unit...how convenient you have a ST unit full of guys that dont even play but you'll sit the kid that can actually offer something to the defense because he isnt that good of a ST'er. Would love to hear your thought process on that one. Not only that he can help an area where our BAAARUTAL 3rd down pass rush is sorely lacking. Then you take Webb, good project pick could develop into a solid player, personally Id rather watch him struggle and develop than Carr struggle and be 29 years old. Phillips good linebacker IR( and im not even sure hes hurt still cuz he played in the Carolina game), you cut Peerman, and cut Drew. Like I said 1 starter, and 1 ST player the rest dont even dress.

Cam

Find a friggen balance in your play calling, and then when teams adapt to it your allowed to change it guy. When you go in at half make a friggen adjustment if Flacco has thrown for 75 yards at half, maybe go oldschool jumbo package and get Flacco past half, at the very least give the defense a rest! They were on for 35 minutes. If what you have isnt working make adjustments its what good coaches do.

Mattison

Your bend but dont break attitude is starting to get under my skin. We attack with the Ravens, we dont sit back and let offenses walk all over us and then get tough in the redzone, get tough from the get go. You need to lite a fire under Ngata, show your linebackers how to play a zone coverage one time, and have a good old fashion boxing match between all your corners to toughing their sally selves up.

Mattison rant was short cuz this is possibly the longest rant and post ever in the history of rant posting. I apologize in advance.

I'll bash the NFL instead of the Ravens or a particular team or player.

What the hell is the NFL coming to... Should I switch to rugby were they still allow players to hit? Do the NFL becoming the football (soccer) league where faking is part of the game (yes I'm talking about Brady)? If you can't stand the hits, get out, take a hike, go play tag football. I played LB for 4 years on my HS team and some college and I just can't stand it anymore with the no contact there, illegal this. For Christ sake, let the players do their job!!

If you look at the real world, what do you say when you get pulled over for going 50 in a 45 zone? The cop is freaking nuts and is overdoing it. Same in the NFL, just because it's a rule doesn't mean it has to be enforced so much that it will affects the outcome of games when there's no context that can justify it. Call it only when it's significant.

You guys got screwed last week but to try blame this week on it kinda irks me...Like Marvin Lewis has said in the past & Harbaugh said yesterday you got to put yourself in to position so one or two calls doesn't screw you over... but with that being said I really don't feel the refs screwed you every single announcer & person reviewing the game said they were fair calls so let's look back

-Yes it was a horrible spot this was the one blown call, but it's only fair because that was a fumble and bengals were screwed more

-Defensive Holding Calls How are these bad? your corner back shoved chad the first time...

-Unnecessary roughness on Ray...Sorry but this was deserved there was no need to obliterate chad the way he did a simple push would have done..

-Pass Interference on Chad the DB was all over Chad and Deion who always defends DB's even said it was good call.

PS.I wish you guys the best of luck the Ravens are the only team I respect in the AFCN and look forward to the next game.
