Next Up: Vikings

Well, after this disappointing weekend, lets talk about Week 6. We have to travel to Minnesota and play the undefeated vikings. I'm going to be positive going into this game. Our secondary really needs to step up big. If we don't, Favre is going to pick us all apart. Adrian Peterson is a beat, and if we couldn't stop Benson this weekend, god knows what AP can do IF we don't make adjustments. All week 6 talk here. Thoughts? :3dtext10082zo1:

People already have the Ravens losing this game simply because of how they performed today. I don't know what will happen but I really think the offense will play better than they did today. To me, the defense played admirably until the final minute.

We're toast...

We're going into the bye on a three game losing streak. If we can't beat the hapless Bangles and they are hapless, we have no chance against the Vikings.

I still think this game will be very competitive. Our ship isn't sinking its just on the wrong course. We need to correct our play-calling. Mix in more runs, and work on being more disciplined.

If you are about to claim the Ravens suck and they are going to lose every game (except the Lions). Please do us a favor and come back next year.

We are 3-2. Last time I checked there's still a lot of football to be played.

I just hope the refs don't protect the good old farvy against us

I just don't know anymore though, it'd be nice to win.

Calling the Bengals hapless might be going overboard. They are one 80 yard Fluke TD away from being 5-0. They came to play. We didn't. We were too comfy at home.

I know Favre wont be a whining crying diva like Tom Brady was last week. He'll take his punishment like a man

Am I the only one here who thinks the Vikings are overrated??? Yeah we looked TERRIBLE today but I don't see our team not being prepared coming into this game. I think Cam's going to come up with an awsome gameplan and we're going to sneak in a win.

I hope they have an answer for Jared Allen. Joe needs more time in the pocket so hopefully Gaither is back at a 100%

It may not be what people want to hear but screens and draws are the perfect way to slow a pass rush. It should be the Ray Rice show.

how are the Vikings' secondary, anyone know?

I had the feeling Ravens were kind of scared to go deep downfield today because of the Bengals secondary, if the Vikings aren't as good I can see Flacco bouncing back.

They haven't done squat all year, They stink it up for 3 1/2 quarters and score the win in the last seconds. They almost tied the Browns last week in OT. They are a hapless team that the Ravens only scored 7 offense points on a missed tackle...

I don't think they're overrated but I have faith Cam will come up with a good gameplan. The Vikings have one good corner but their secondary isn't very good. I have think Flacco should be able to air it out.

They're 4-1 for a reason. They pulled those wins out because they're a good team.

Regardless if we won or lost today I definately chalk this one up as a loss if not a massacre. I don't care if the parking lot attendant is QB they will run on us with ease and Flacco will be on his back alot and saying hello frequently to Jared Allen

I just can't see us going at Minnesota and stoping AP, and Favre the same day.

You thought the Bengals had a good pass rush? JA scares the hell out of me, and I can see him and his gang causing havoc all day.

Would you have said that last week? The defense gets gashed for the first time in a LONG time and people think thing the defense is a liability against the run. Wow...

I can see us stopping AP, and maybe keeping Favre from going all out on us.

Their defense is going to tear our offense apart though, and their offense will make enough plays to win.

The Ravens did very well against the Bengals' pass rush today. Plus, do you think Cam will draw up a game-plan that'll allow for Allen and Co. to run wild?

Yes I would and have voiced my opinion of this team having issues in the previous weeks win or lose. One thing is for sure this years D is certainly not built to carry a struggling offense as in years past.

Of course. The pass rush and the secondary aren't where they need to be and I don't see either improving much. The defense got out-muscled today but I don't see it happening much the rest of the season.

Well, looking ahead to the Vikes:

They're 5-0.
They've beat 3 sub-par teams (CLEV, DET & ST L) and beat each convincingly.
They beat 2 good teams, San Fran (by 3) and GB (by 7).

Statistically:

On Offense, they're 3rd in points scored, 17th in Offensive Yards gained.
#11 in Rushing Offense, #18 in Passing Offense.

On Defense, they're 10th in points allowed, 14th in Yards allowed.
#11 in Rushing Defense, #19 in Passing Defense.

In brief, on Offense, the O-Line has to deal with Jared Allen - with the same success they achieved with Odom this week. I believe they'll have to pass to score, Minny has led the NFL in rush D for 3 straight seasons.

On D, the front 7 must stop AP first, and let Favre try to beat them. With pressure, Brett has always been interception prone.

It will be tough, inside the loud Metrodome.

Just trying to get people's minds off of today, and onto next Sunday...

Personally, I think we'll be .500 in 3 weeks. First we have the Vikings next week, undefeated, and I've watched 3 of their 5 games, and they are looking pretty damn good. If our secondary don't watch out, the bye will beat us too. Maybe we could get a few more flags on our defense that week. Unfortunately, our next two matchups will be against undefeated teams. I think we deserved both of our losses, too many stupid mistakes, and my opinion all good calls. We can blame it on this and on that, but the only way to prevent this crap, is to stop playing trash football. Just tackle the damn guy, and stop trying to seperate his head from his body. All that hype with being #1 on the power rankings, and being a super bowl contender, we aren't contending for anything if we don't start playing all 4 quarters on ALL sides of the ball. My rant is done, criticize my opinions all you want! :)

After Week 8 we will be 3-4 1 game ahead of the Browns and 3 out of 1st.

To add to that, we need to start winning against teams whose record is positive and not just the winless or hardly good teams. Cleveland stinks, kansas city stinks, and the chargers, well, we just got lucky on that last play. Actually surprised they didn't score, everyone else has been. And THANK GOD that 100 rusher streak is over. We'll have something to cheer about when the lions come to town!

Is it possible for an NFL team to just go ahead and forfeit a game? :th_shame:
[/quote]

You ready to give up that quick?

So IF we win. Will we be seeing the "this team is the best thing since slice bread" threads again?
