Mods Putting Words In Other People's Posts?

5 posts in this topic

I just noticed when I went to make a "I don't have purple goggles or drink purple I just used the EMB's #1 Cliche" remark in my post, that it suddenly got changed to "I used EMBs #1 cliche".

What's with the K00l-a1d thing?

The word you're referring to is part of the profanity filter. That drink that people like to use as a cliche. Not my call, this was wayyyyy back in the day and embedded in the board's software because it was overused at one point. It changes the word automatically, so we apologize for the confusion there.

And for the record, the only time we put words into other people's posts is to edit out a real profanity or veiled attempts at profanity, or to edit out objectionable parts of posts that violate the Code of Conduct so as to salvage the message of the post.

My apologies, I just recognized it but I couldn't go back and edit my title. :(

Would you mind doing it for me? Something about the purple cool aid thing?

If you recall Billick last year it was a certain annoying Sun Columnist favorite phrase, mod edits have a< whatever the infraction>.
