Merged: Don't Freak Out

What I'm more worried about isn't the two lost in a row but the lack of depth in the secondary besides Reed, of course. This issue needs to be address if we want to have a chance at going to the SB. It's not like we're rebuilding or anything, that was last year and the FO did a great job at getting Flacco and Harbaugh and providing power & speed on HB. The corners needs to step up, and that includes all of them. I know it might be asking a lot but we can't rely only on a LB fallback for coverage.

I have a feeling, however, that the defense as a whole, took the games more lightly since the beginning because of Flacco's awesome performances in the first 2 games. If you know your team can score at will, you'll have a natural tendencie to play more laid back even if it's not concious. Before, the D knew that they had to be up because of the lack of points, but this past five weeks have proven that just because you have a good QB that can make big plays, you shouldn't rest. There's something in the D that just isn't there but I can't pinpoint it.

Yeah, Trevor Pryce has a guy's arm around his neck as he beats them on pass plays all the time. It's absolutely nuts how often he's held up high and not called. I can't remember it ever being called. The most blatant case was the Indy Playoff loss in '06. I think it's his inside, arm under technique, it's not as obvious as a speed outside rush since he's engaged from the beginning.

all though we didn't play well today we certainly could have still won this game. Teams have a bad game or 2 during the season. This is the time where the bandwagon fans jump off and the true fans remain. Don't worry in a few weeks they will be trying to climb back on the bandwagon. We ain't done yet.

Was it just me or did it seem like Cincinnati got away with holding today? I'm not trying to make excuses, just wanting other opinions.

I'll have to go back and watch again, but I did get the funny feeling that, as much as the pocket collapsed and Palmer was moving around, the Bengals O-Line held up much longer than it should have.
