Joe On Pace

25 posts in this topic

back when the ravens started in 96 we passed alot , vinny put up 4177yrds and 33 TDs so far joe is poised to smash that record that has stood since the franchises first year but keep in mind joe may end up with 1 less td at this pace but , joes INT stat may be less vinnys was 19

anyone got thoughts on this topic?

Joe is only one guy on the field. I don't care how many hards he gets ot TD's he throws if we don't win at least the Division. Joe has great potential, but I am more concerned about team stats and our final record. Joe will not get us to the SB all by himself. For every pass there has to be a reception and guys to block and clean handoffs for a successful run. Give the man his due, once he's earned it, but think team FIRST.

I think as far as Joe, wins r the most important stat he needs to focus on with Ray's career slowly coming to an end. However, I have been extremly impressed with his development. Some say he could be headed towards the P.Manning stature, which means total control over the offense and the opossing teams defense. This is what us as RAVENS FANS have been waiting for since VINNY. LET'S GO FLACCO!!!(WE SALUTE)

I dont think the post had anything to do with it not being a team effort. I think if I am not mistaken he was wondering if we thought Joe has a chance at breaking the existing records of Vinny.

Barring injury, SSHSHHHSHS, there is no doubt in my mind that Joe will shred the old records. I see Joe eventually being one of the top passers of the game. He has incredible arm strength and accuracy. He is patient, gutsy, and level headed. I dont think he concerns himself with stats and does place "Team" before self. We are fortunate to have him as our quarterback. Im lovin it!

With Flacco at QB I dont change the channel anymore when the Ravens are down a score or two because we all know with Billick if someone go up on the Ravens they would almost always lose them game. So yea Im glad Flacco is here and hope he keeps up the good work!

I agree. I don't believe that Joe or Cam is focused on Joe's stats, as evidenced by them replacing Joe when he went over 300 yds against the Browns. Ray said it best himself when he said this team will go as far as Joe takes us. That's the gameplan for the Ravens this year. They are going with their strength. That's Joe. The Ravens are still a VERY GOOD defense, but they are not the DOMINANT bunch we are used to seeing. The Ravens can now be characterized as an OFFENSIVE team because Ray is not going to become 25 years old again. Plus, Defensive Players are now more expensive than Offensive ones in this salary cap era. DE's, Stud Tackles, and Shutdown Corners now cost as much as top quarterbacks. The Ravens have ALWAYS been smart and well managed. We are blessed. Just continue to count them.

Who wouldve thought that Vinnys numbers would last this long? I cant believe that its 13 years later and those are still the franchises best for a QB, Well that day may have arrived and I for one am glad to watch them get broke , and broke again and again, after Vinny we had Zeier, Harbaugh, Case, Mitchell, Banks, Dilfer(who always holds a spot in my heart), Cunningham, Redman, Blake, Wright, Boller, McNair and Finally what appears to be our "Manning" or "Brady" -but ahhh time will tell,(so far she tells us great things)

Joe Flacco Vantage 360-
System requirememnts

good line
Decent running Game
nice wideouts , awesome TEs

may not be compatible with certian towns like pittsburg or cincinati
incompatabilities with all defense could be experienced and cause failure of secondary defensive paremeters

Well i think flacoo wont throw no more than 24 tds dont matter what hes on pace for because we dont have wrs for him to throw in the 30s but as long as he has at least 5 more td to picks then he had a good year. So i say maybe like 20 tds to hmm 10 picks.

Flacco is revolutionizing the QB position for the ravens. It could be argued that Mcnair wasn't this explosive.

Based on what, data you collected? Wins is what I want. Drew Brees had 5,000 yards passing last season, the Saints went 8-8.

i think Joe will have more yards, but less TD and INT... i just hope his hand is sore after this week from handing off to the three headed monster 40+ times

Not to sound wierd, but what does "jinx" have to do with anything? Isn't that voodoo worship or something?

1996 Testaverde- 33td's 19int's 4 wins 12 losses
2008 Joe Flacco-14 td's 12 int's 13 wins 6 losses AFC Championship Game

Flacco won more games in his rookie year than Testaverde did in his two seasons here combined. At the end of the day Wins and Losses are the only ones that really matter, and Flacco has far surpassed Testaverde already in that reguard. Let's get rid of the expectations and just enjoy watching what could be a special carreer unfold before us.
