Just because someone's new to the message boards doesn't make them bandwagoners. I've been a huge Ravens fan and in the stands for every home game since '98, but I didn't join this board until this season. Posters should be judged on the merit of their posts, not how long they've been members.

Welcome!

You'll notice that this board is not snobby like many others, people actually respond to the logic of your posts, regardless of your post count... unlike many others, who imply that new posters need to be taught, as uneducated rookies.

Of course the ravens have become trendy. When you have a defense with the tenacity (not the stats) of the RAvens, and then you make them the number 3 offense in the league, smart people are going to notice. I just wish more Ravens fans noticed this too. This is not th esame Ravens team we are used to seeing. The fax machine is now being updated to email. Thank God.

I just joined these boards recently only because I just realized this site had a message board. I have been a fan for years, through the ups and downs. Like when we went 5-11 and lost to the dolphins. What made me love this team was the defense, #52 is my favorite player followed by Reed. I love watching a defensive game, my friends say its boring, but I love it. It is nice to have a great passing attack to go with our running game and defense though. Almost like a super team. ;)

? Luck? They had an awful defense, but their offense couls pretty much score at will that year. True, the ball seemingly bounced their way a lot that year and luck IS part of the game (like it or not), but they were just an offensive machine in 1999.

The ravens adapted to the nfl. [/quote]

The Ravens adapted to the NFL? What does that mean exactly? We were a team that won games strictly with our Defense and a QB that didn't make many mistakes. Now our offense appears to be in the top 10, but our D has taken a step back. We will win the Super Bowl. We are good. We are great! We are heading to Miami!

Speaking of "luck." I have never seen anyone more lucky than the 2000 Ravens Superbowl team. It seemed like EVERY ball bounced their way. The defense picked of 23 interceptions and recovered something like 45 fumbles. This is in addition to the Special Teams dominating games like I have never seen before. Jermaine Lewis seemed to be running down the sideline in every big game after the defense has given up any points. People are quick to talk about the defense that year, and rightly so. But the special teams and the incredible amount of turnovers are what won the Superbowl. Now THAT's what you can call luck.

Hey man, you create your own luck through practice and being in position when you're suppose to be.

Yes there is some luck perhaps in 2 out of 16 games per year, but not an entire season.
