I don't think Edwards is a rental, considering how much they gave up. I suspect the Jets will give Edwards a contract extension either before the year is out or soon thereafter.
Yeah, I just hope the Jets go about this the smart way. What I mean by that is see what he does with 12 regular season games under his belt and possibly a playoff game and than slap the Franchise Tag on him. Edwards than can get the full off-season activities with the team, Training Camp as the # 1 guy to see how he and Sanchez can gel even better if things work out this year. Pre-season games can also help.

If Braylon can do very well in 2010 under the Franchise tag, than I say give him a long term deal and the cash, but just I don't think the Jets are smart enough to actually do what I said above and they will most likely rush to give him a new long term contract.

That must piss of Browns fans. Edwards drops everything thrown at him the last few years in Cleveland. First throw to him in NY is a TD catch. And he holds onto the ball.

Well no offense but Sanchez is a better QB than DA and Quinn. I actually think Edwards will be better off as a Jet. Good for Braylon, now let's see if he keeps it up the rest of the season. Oh Rex, whatever you do, don't rush to give him a long term contract, Franchise him in the off-season, than if he performs well than give him a long deal. Don't rush the deal than have him drop everything thrown at him.

Edwards looks great tonight. It would have been nice to see Edwards catch the TD but his knee was down at the two. Seems like Sanchez and Edwards have already gelled. It seems Edwards had some Cleveland sickness that had him drop balls more than anything. He gets out of Cleveland and he is performing well. Smart Move Rex. Looks like the Jets may take the Division if the Pats continue to stumble. :242736:

Once again. Cleveland fans must be going crazy. Braylon is catching everything thrown at him. He's jumping to catch balls, He's getting hit while catching 3rd down passes. And coming down with the ball.

Poor Cleveland.

fo shizzle. I think Braylon was deking the Browns. Be good enough to be respectable, but drop enough passes to be expendable.

On another note, I believe that call was wrong and he should have had a TD. Yes the ball was at the 1 when his knee hit, but this isnt college. You have to be touched to be down and he wasnt touched until after he rolled into the endzone.
