Yeah, don't blame the defense or anything. Blame a guy for not making a game-winning catch in the endzone with two guys on him, or for dropping a zipped fourth down pass with...two guys on him.

my thoughts as well...

As long as we're nitpicking how about Joe's interception? We drive down the field and he throws an interception to the sideline? That wasn't a very good play.

Joe Flacco is now a bust.

We lost to New England IN FOXBORO, and it came down to the last drive. Get over it.

Yeah, he dropped a pass. I don't hate him for it, things happen.
I'll hate him for the both of us. That could have been a big win for us. Great for Flacco's confidence as well.

First of all against all of the bad of the game i am proud of the guys they fought well. We got off to a bad start for one and we shot ourselves in the foot with turnovers and putting the ball back in their hands when we had the chance to put it back in our offenses hands. Also, the officials helped add to the win, they should have put the New England officials on that Coors commercial with the officials giving the game to the other team.

Hate is a strong word to describe any person, no less a football player who I have never met personnally, so I wouldn't go that far. But, I would like to see him playing for another team. He absolutely broke me heart today.

Im not gonna comment on the officiating but not one person can be blamed for this loss. We lost in a team, not in a cheesy way but in the fact that everyone blew plays. Rice had a great game but still fell over his feet twice. Clayton could have saved the game with that catch (which I thought a flag would have been thrown) in the endzone with 2 guys on him. Flacco overthrew a lot. Everyone missed tackles. And John Harbaugh wastes a time out on a stupid challenge and John Harbaugh gets a 15 yard penalty. Or how Cam Cameron chose to run it with McGahee 4th and short with no freakin full back or tite end to lead block for him.

So overall we played like donkey poop but at the same time we kept it a close game. Now we wont worry about 16-0 and we can worry about what we did wrong.

Clayton's drop did suck but he will bounce back.

3-1 ITS A WINNING RECORD!!!!!!!

There were too many factors in the loss. No longer undefeated.

Ravens 3-1
Bengals 2-1-1
Steelers 1-3 (most likely)
Browns 0-3-1

Second time Clayton has lost the game for us!!!!!!

Remember- Kyle Boller looking deep, finds Clayton- catches it at the three yard line- game over.

2 years later

Joe Flacco looking for an open WR- Finds Clayton- drops the ball.

...Brandon Marshall? LOL

I must add however, the play calling was HORRENDOUS throwing the ball 50 times a game? that is NOT necessary, cam needs to brush up his playing calling... these are not the browns we faced last week.
I am fine with people being upset but I can't stand when fans question play calling, especially when the play caller in question is a top 3 OC in the NFL. Quit crying, you couldn't do better.

This Defense looks NOTHING like the Ravens' defense we've all learned to love and admire.. Let's see now . . . what could it be? . . . . .. same guys, same talent, . . . . . . . . what could it be?

Yes he did drop that pass that end up being the last play we had a chance to do something...but 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 and Mclain isnt on the field for either plays?? Running the ball less then 10 times in the first half?? I mean Carr (who is worse then figurs with the ball in his hand) fumbling out of the gate put us in a hole early. There were a whole lot of things that contributed to the lose....not to mention some piss poor reffing. But it is what it is, better to lose now to the Pats then later...
My issue as well is the lack of the Run Game. Ray Rice was having a career day, yet onlt gets 11 or 12 carries? I know that Flacco's gonna be (and is showing to be) a great Quarterback, but do you have to completely abandon what brought you sucess in the pass in a Smash Mouth Style? We probally have one of the 5 best Running Combo's in the NFL but they don't get alot of touches? I know everyones excited about having an Offense but if you abandon playing defense, we'll just be the Saints that put up 35 and give up 40. Even though we can throw now Flacco shouldn't have to throw 40-45 times a game.

so what you're telling me is that passing it 47 times and running it 27 times against the patriots is adequate? top 3 or not, this was not one of his better called games

Man get off Marks back, he had a chance to win the game but he damn sure didnt lose it. There is plenty of blame to go around on that one.

You can start with your offensive coordinater and his unbalanced play calling. Your head coach and his poor clock management and for losing his cool on the sideline. You defensive coordinator for his vanilla defense. Blame the piss poor tackling that allowed NE to score so many TD's and keep drives going. The team as a whole for being undisciplined. 9 penalties for almost 100 yards, with 2 turnovers. BLAME THAT. And I dont want to here any crap about the refs, sure there were some close calls but we had 8 penalties last week. The refs get the benefit of the doubt, giving our history. Its a problem that needs to be fixed.

By same guys, same talent do you mean two completely different corners and minus a pro bowl linebacker?

A loss is a loss, but the truth of the matter is we need clayton to be a targer in the passing game for us to be very successful this year. Lets hope he can bounce back.

All of this is right on the mark.

People are getting on Clayton over two tough catches that he couldn't bring in. Conveniently forgetting the first-down catches he made to extend the drive in the first place.

1st and 10 at BLT 20 (3:32) (Shotgun) J.Flacco pass short right to M.Clayton pushed ob at BLT 32 for 12 yards (J.Wilhite).
1st and 10 at BLT 32 (3:27) (Shotgun) J.Flacco pass short right to D.Mason to BLT 43 for 11 yards (J.Sanders).
1st and 10 at BLT 43 (3:00) (No Huddle, Shotgun) J.Flacco pass incomplete short left to T.Heap [B.McGowan].
2nd and 10 at BLT 43 (2:57) (Shotgun) J.Flacco pass short right to M.Clayton to NE 48 for 9 yards (J.Wilhite).
3rd and 1 at NE 48 (2:38) (No Huddle) J.Flacco up the middle to NE 46 for 2 yards (T.Sands, D.Burgess).
1st and 10 at NE 46 (2:06) (No Huddle, Shotgun) J.Flacco pass short right to M.Clayton to NE 37 for 9 yards (J.Wilhite, S.Springs).
Two-Minute Warning
Timeout #2 by NE at 02:00.
2nd and 1 at NE 37 (2:00) (Shotgun) R.Rice left tackle to NE 33 for 4 yards (B.McGowan, B.Meriweather).
1st and 10 at NE 33 (1:38) (No Huddle, Shotgun) J.Flacco pass incomplete short left to R.Rice.
2nd and 10 at NE 33 (1:32) (Shotgun) J.Flacco pass short right to R.Rice to NE 20 for 13 yards (J.Sanders, B.Meriweather).
1st and 10 at NE 20 (1:10) (No Huddle) J.Flacco pass incomplete deep right to M.Clayton.
2nd and 10 at NE 20 (1:05) (Shotgun) J.Flacco pass short middle to K.Washington to NE 14 for 6 yards (B.McGowan).
3rd and 4 at NE 14 (:35) (No Huddle) J.Flacco pass incomplete short right to D.Mason.
4th and 4 at NE 14 (:32) (Shotgun) J.Flacco pass incomplete short right to M.Clayton.

He made plays on that last drive. Give him a break.

You have to take what the D gives you. When they stack the box, let Joe throw. Was I the only one to see us get stuffed on 3rd and 1 AND 4th and 1 back to back plays. The run game wasn't that effective other than Rice's 50 yarder.

The RAVENS missed a opportunity to win this game not just Clayton or any one player for that matter.

Put you emotions aside guys, I know it hurts like hell right now, and I'm sure nobody feels as bad as Clayton himself.

But you have to see that there are many areas for improvement for this team. We can look at Flacco's INT before the half, if not for that we score. We can look at Carr's fumble.

We can look at the defense giving up a 4th down conversion. We can look at a lot of things.

The biggest thing to realize this that this Ravens team fought to the very end. The Pats look like their team is back to being one of the best and we went toe to toe with those guys.

We will learn a lot about the character of this Ravens team during this week. We will see how this team responds and how will we continue to fight.

The real character of a Man shows when he is at his lowest point and adversity shows it ugly head. Well Mr. Clayton, you are at you lowest, I'm interested to see how you bounce back.

I'm not going to get on the whole "TRADE CLAYTON" wagon as we're going to see soon enough here.
I'm not either. I'd rather just watch him leave as a free agent after the season and let him become someone else's problem. Send him to ST. Louis, where they can reform the imposing Boller/Clayton hookup.
